Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tuxedo System76 Galago Pro 3 — 11.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This 11.4V, 2600mAh (29.64Wh) lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the System76 Galago Pro 3 ultrabook and compatible InfinityBook Pro 13 and Pro 14 models. It restores unplugged operation to the laptop after the original cell has degraded or failed. Voltage, connector pitch, and physical dimensions match the factory specification at 181.40 x 85.55 x 10.10mm.
- Galago Pro 3 and InfinityBook Pro platform fit: These models share a common chassis and battery bay spec across the Clevo-based ultrabook platform. Same 11.4V three-cell configuration, same connector orientation, and same BMS communication protocol — so one cell fits the full listed range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, discharge, and BMS handshake on a Galago Pro 3 unit. The BMS recognised the cell correctly, charge current stepped down at the expected voltage threshold, and no protection trip occurred during load cycling.
- Post-install learn cycle on Galago Pro 3: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after replacement
The Galago Pro 3 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM on the battery's embedded controller. When a new cell is installed, that EEPROM still holds cycle count and capacity data from the old cell — or defaults to zero, which the BIOS flags as a fault. This is not a defect in the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate then a full uninterrupted charge gives the BIOS enough data to overwrite the stale EEPROM values. After one or two cycles, the health indicator returns to normal.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown after battery swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC calibrates against the old cell's discharge curve. After a swap, it does not yet know where the new cell's voltage cliff sits under combined CPU and display load. The cell hits its low-voltage cutoff before the gauge reaches 0%, so the system cuts power while the display still shows remaining charge. The fix is to run two or three full discharge cycles through hibernate — each cycle tightens the fuel gauge IC's model of the new cell. After three cycles, shutdown typically aligns within 5% of the displayed reading.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Galago Pro 3 shows the replacement battery as "unknown" or 0% in the OS — what's wrong?
The fuel gauge IC in the new cell hasn't completed a calibration cycle against your system yet, so the OS reads incomplete EEPROM data and reports an unknown state. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging mid-cycle. This gives the BIOS enough data to recognise the cell correctly. After that first cycle, the OS fuel gauge should display a real percentage.
The new battery stopped charging at 80% and won't go higher — is the cell faulty?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault in the cell itself. Many Clevo-platform laptops ship with a charge threshold set to 80% to reduce cell stress during mains-only use. Check the Tuxedo Control Center or your system's power management settings for a charge limit toggle. Set it to 100% and plug in again — the cell will charge to full.
System info shows the wrong Wh rating after fitting the replacement cell — it doesn't match the 29.64Wh spec.
The Wh figure shown in system info pulls from the EEPROM on the battery controller, which stores the rated value from the original cell's firmware — not a live measurement. After one full discharge-to-hibernate and a complete recharge, the BIOS recalculates capacity against actual cell behaviour and updates the displayed Wh figure. If it still reads incorrectly after two full cycles, check BIOS version — some early Galago Pro 3 firmware builds require an update to read third-party cell EEPROM correctly.
