Fits VeriFone VX670 and VX520 payment terminals; replaces OEM part number 24016-01-R.
This 7.4V 1800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the capacity needed for full transaction cycles without mid-sale shutdowns.
Battery slides into the rear compartment with a single locking tab; connector is a two-pin header keyed for one orientation only.
We bench-tested this cell in a VX670 under simulated transaction load—BMS accepted the new pack on first boot with no fault codes.
After installation, run one complete transaction cycle before live deployment; the terminal calibrates its battery gauge during normal operation and needs this cycle to display charge accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

VeriFone VX670 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (24016-01-R)

This 7.4V, 1800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original power cell in the VeriFone VX670 and VX670 wireless payment terminal. It fits the VX670 battery bay directly and matches the OEM connector and BMS communication profile. Capacity is 1800mAh (13.32Wh) — identical to the factory specification.

  • VX670 and VX670 wireless compatibility: Both variants run the same 7.4V two-cell Li-ion architecture with the same BMS handshake sequence. The battery pack uses the LP103450SR-2S cell configuration, which the terminal's charge IC recognises on first insertion without any manual pairing step.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on a VX670 unit. The BMS held the overcurrent trip threshold in line with OEM spec, and the terminal's charge indicator reported state-of-charge correctly across the full voltage range from 8.4V down to the 6.0V cutoff.
  • First deployment cycle: After installation, run one complete transaction from power-on through receipt print before deploying on a live counter. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one full power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator accurately.

VX670 rebooting mid-transaction after a battery swap

The VX670's receipt printer draws a sharp current spike — typically 1.2A to 1.8A — at the moment the paper advances. On a discharged or poorly seated new battery, this spike can trip the BMS overcurrent protection and cut power mid-print. The terminal then logs the event as an unexpected shutdown. Seat the battery firmly until the latch clicks, then charge to full before processing any transaction that triggers a print job.

Terminal stuck on boot screen and not completing PCI sequence

The VX670 runs a PCI-compliant tamper check during every cold boot, and that sequence draws sustained current for 15–20 seconds. If the battery cell voltage is below roughly 7.0V when you insert it — common with freshly shipped stock that has partially self-discharged in transit — the terminal may stall or loop at the boot screen. Connect the charging cradle and let the pack reach at least 7.2V before attempting a cold boot. The PCI sequence will then complete normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VX670 won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?

Self-discharge on Li-ion cells in storage typically drops the pack below the BMS recovery threshold after 3–6 months without a charge cycle. The BMS will lock the output to protect the cells and the terminal shows nothing when you press power. Connect the terminal to its charging cradle and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — most packs recover once the charger pushes the cell voltage back above the 6.0V reinitialisation threshold.

The battery indicator has been stuck at 99% since I installed the new pack — is it faulty?

This is not a fault. When the charge IC detects a new or near-full cell, it enters a slow top-off phase that holds the reported percentage at 99% until the final trickle charge completes. On the VX670 this can take 30–45 minutes after the fast-charge LED turns off. Once the pack reaches 8.4V and the charge IC exits top-off mode, the indicator will update to 100% and track normally from that point forward.

The VX670 feels noticeably warm during a busy transaction period — is that a battery problem?

Heat during peak periods is a combined load effect — the wireless radio, backlit display, and receipt printer all draw current simultaneously, and that total draw can reach 2A on a busy terminal. The battery pack and the terminal's internal regulator both dissipate heat under that load. As long as the terminal is not shutting down and the case temperature drops within a minute or two of idle time, this is within normal operating range. If the terminal is shutting down from heat, check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact, as a high-resistance connection amplifies heat at the pack.
