Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

VeriFone Nurit 8000 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CCR-8010)
This 7.4V, 1800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original CCR-8010 cell in the VeriFone Nurit 8000 and Nurit 8010 payment terminals, including Wireless Terminal variants. It fits handheld POS devices used for processing card transactions in retail, hospitality, and mobile merchant environments.
- Nurit 8000 and 8010 platform fit: Both the 8000 and 8010 share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — a single cell covers both. The CCR-8010 part number is also referenced by VeriFone under 80BT-LG-M05-GRY1 and 80BT-LG-M05-BLU1-J.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge-discharge sequences on the Nurit 8000 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, the charge IC reached top-off stage correctly, and the terminal completed PCI boot sequence on the first power-on.
- First deployment tip: After installing the battery, run one complete transaction cycle — including a receipt print — before putting the terminal into live service. The Nurit 8000 maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one full power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator accurately.
Receipt printer current spike tripping the BMS mid-transaction
The Nurit 8000 combines wireless radio, display backlight, and a thermal print head on a single battery rail. When all three draw simultaneously — during a card approval that triggers an immediate receipt print — the combined current spike can exceed the BMS overcurrent threshold on a degraded or cold cell. A fresh CCR-8010 cell has the capacity headroom to absorb that spike without tripping. If the terminal cuts out specifically at the moment of printing, the battery is the first thing to check, not the printer mechanism itself.
Terminal will not power on after sitting unused in a drawer
Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. A Nurit 8000 left unpowered for several months can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — causing the terminal to show no response on the power button. Place the terminal on its charging base and leave it for at least 90 minutes before attempting to power on. If the charge LED never lights, the cell may be below the charger's detection threshold; try a known-good battery first to confirm whether the issue is the cell or the charging dock. A recovered cell should read at least 7.0V before boot.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Nurit 8000 reboots every time a customer receipt prints — is this a terminal fault or the battery?
That reboot pattern points to the battery, not the terminal. The thermal print head draws a sharp current spike the moment it fires, and if the cell can't supply it cleanly, the BMS trips and the terminal restarts. We saw this on the bench with a depleted cell but not with a full-capacity CCR-8010. Swap the battery first — if the reboot stops, you have your answer.
The Nurit 8010 gets noticeably warm during a busy transaction period — should I be concerned?
Some warmth is normal. The 8010 draws from the battery for the wireless radio, backlight, and print head at the same time, and Li-ion cells generate heat under combined load. What to watch for is heat concentrated at the battery compartment rather than spread across the device, or warmth that persists after the terminal sits idle for five minutes — those patterns suggest a cell with rising internal resistance. A healthy replacement cell running the same load should stay only slightly warm to the touch.
The charge indicator on my Nurit 8000 has been stuck at 99% since I installed the new battery — is the cell faulty?
It is not faulty. When a new cell first goes into the charger, the charge IC enters a top-off phase that holds the reported percentage just below 100% while it trickle-charges the last few milliamp-hours. The terminal also hasn't mapped the new cell's capacity curve yet. Run the terminal through one complete charge-to-use cycle — charge it fully, use it through a normal transaction session, then recharge — and the indicator will recalibrate to the correct value.
