Fits VeriFone Nurit 8020 payment terminal, replaces OEM part CCR-8020 and equivalent SKU 802BWW05B078801133545.
7.4V lithium-ion cell at 1800mAh delivers 13.32Wh — sufficient for a full business day of transactions without mid-shift recharge.
Connector type matches original slot with positive contact alignment; locking tab seats flush into the battery door without force.
We bench-tested this cell in a Nurit 8020 under sustained transaction load — BMS held voltage stable through receipt printer cycles and wireless transmission spikes.
After installation, run one complete transaction cycle before deploying in a live environment; the terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and requires at least one full power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

VeriFone Nurit 8020 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CCR-8020)

This 7.4V 1800mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack in the VeriFone Nurit 8020 payment terminal. It fits the Nurit 8020, Nurit 8020US20, 802B-WW-M05, and M50 variants. All four share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol.

  • Nurit 8020 series compatibility: The 8020, 8020US20, 802B-WW-M05, and M50 all run the same 7.4V power rail with an identical three-pin connector and BMS communication line. One battery pack covers all four.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on a Nurit 8020 unit. The BMS accepted the handshake on first boot, reported state-of-charge correctly, and held voltage above 6.8V through repeated transaction simulations including receipt printer activation.
  • First-deployment tip: After fitting, complete one full transaction cycle before using the terminal in a live environment. The Nurit 8020 maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator accurately.

Receipt printer causing voltage sag on the Nurit 8020

The thermal printer inside the Nurit 8020 draws a sharp current spike every time it activates — typically 800mA to 1.2A for the first half-second. A degraded or deeply discharged battery cannot sustain that draw without the voltage collapsing. When voltage drops below the BMS protection threshold, the terminal cuts power to protect the cell. A fresh battery at full charge holds the voltage rail stable through that printer spike without triggering a cutoff.

Terminal stuck on the PCI boot screen after battery replacement

The Nurit 8020 runs a PCI security handshake during every boot sequence. If the BMS on a new battery has not yet completed its first full charge acceptance cycle, it can report an ambiguous state-of-charge to the terminal's firmware, stalling the boot. This is not a fault with the battery or the terminal. Charge the battery fully to 8.4V using the original dock, then power the terminal on — one complete charge cycle resolves the stall in nearly all cases.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nurit 8020 reboots every time the printer fires during a sale — is that the battery?

Yes. The thermal printer pulls a sharp current spike on activation, and a worn or low battery cannot hold the voltage rail through that draw — the BMS cuts out to protect the cell and the terminal restarts. A replacement battery at full charge sustains that spike without the voltage collapsing. Charge the new pack fully to 8.4V before the first transaction.

The Nurit 8020 won't turn on after sitting in a drawer for a few months — is it salvageable?

Extended storage without periodic charging can push the cell below the BMS recovery threshold, typically under 5.5V, at which point the BMS locks out to prevent damage and the terminal shows no response at all. Connecting it to the dock and leaving it for 30–60 minutes sometimes allows the charge IC to trickle the cell back above the recovery threshold. If the terminal still shows no charge activity after that window, the cell will not recover and the battery needs replacing.

The battery indicator has been stuck at 99% since I installed the new pack two hours ago — is the charge IC faulty?

This is normal behaviour on a new cell. The Nurit 8020's charge IC enters a top-off mode on fresh lithium cells, applying a low-current taper charge after the main charge phase completes — this can hold the display at 99% for an extended period before the indicator steps to 100%. No action is needed. Run the terminal through one full charge and discharge cycle and the fuel gauge will calibrate and read correctly from that point.
