Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer C500 / C530 / N500 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CP.H020N.010)
This 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Acer C500, C530, and N500 PDA series. These are handheld personal digital assistants used for mobile calendar management, contact storage, and document viewing. Part numbers CP.H020N.010 and BA-1405106 both apply to this battery slot across the three models.
- C500, C530, and N500 compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The cell footprint is 66.95 × 42.65 × 11.38mm — physically consistent across the series. Swapping between models uses the same part.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a C500 unit. The BMS negotiated charge correctly, voltage ramp was steady, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage threshold without requiring a manual reset.
- Sync before you swap: Perform a full ActiveSync or data sync to your host computer before removing the battery. The C500 series stores open files and application state in RAM powered directly by the main battery. Pull the cell without syncing and that data is gone — not recoverable from the device itself.
Why the Acer C500 won't boot after a new battery is installed
The C500 boot sequence requires a minimum voltage threshold before the processor will initialise. A replacement cell shipped in storage state may sit below that threshold — typically under 3.2V. Inserting it and pressing power will appear to do nothing, with no screen response. Place the device on charge for at least 20–30 minutes before attempting the first boot, and confirm the charging LED activates to verify the BMS has accepted the cell.
Battery life shorter than expected during wireless sync sessions
The C500's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radio draws significantly more current than standby or basic PIM tasks. During an active wireless sync, instantaneous draw can spike high enough to cause premature low-battery warnings even on a fully charged cell. If battery life drops noticeably during sync, check that the device is fully charged to 4.2V before starting the session. Avoid running wireless sync while the cell is below 50% charge — the voltage sag under radio load can trip the BMS cutoff before the actual capacity is exhausted.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Acer C500 lost all my contacts and calendar entries after I swapped the battery — is that normal?
Yes, and it happens because the C500 stores active data in SRAM that is powered directly by the main battery. The moment the cell is removed, that RAM loses power and the contents are erased — this is not a fault with the replacement battery. The fix is to run a full ActiveSync backup to your PC before pulling the old cell. Restore from that backup after the new battery is installed and the device has booted.
The C500 screen stays blank after installing the new battery — nothing happens when I press the power button.
A replacement cell in storage state often ships below the minimum voltage the C500 needs to start its boot sequence. The processor simply won't initialise below roughly 3.2V. Connect the device to a charger and wait until the charge indicator LED activates — give it at least 20 minutes before pressing power again. If the LED never lights, reseat the battery to confirm the connector is fully engaged.
My Acer C500 seems to drain much faster when I use the wireless features than when I just check the calendar — why?
The Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios on the C500 draw several times more current than the processor does during basic PIM tasks. Under active radio load, the voltage can sag enough to trigger the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the cell is actually empty, which makes the device appear to die early. Start wireless sync sessions only when the battery is at a full charge. If the problem persists, check charge voltage at the end of a full charge cycle — it should read 4.2V at the battery terminals.
