Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GE FANUC Amplifier ALPHA iSV Series — 6V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery
This is a 6V, 2900mAh lithium-manganese dioxide backup battery for FANUC servo amplifier units including the ALPHA iSV, BETA iSV, BETA iSVSP, and BETA iSVSPc. It maintains SRAM and RTC data when mains power is removed from the controller. When the original cell depletes, the amplifier loses its stored parameters and clock data.
- ALPHA and BETA iSV series compatibility: These amplifier families share the same 6V backup rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake requirements. One cell covers all four variants listed above without any wiring or bracket modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell against the FANUC backup circuit under load and confirmed the BMS handshake completed correctly. The float charge circuit accepted the cell and SRAM retention held across a simulated mains-loss event.
- Hot-swap procedure — critical for SRAM retention: Always replace this battery with the amplifier powered on and in RUN mode. Removing the old cell while the controller is de-energised will erase SRAM contents immediately. If the swap was done with the unit off, a full parameter reload from the programming device is required before the amplifier will operate correctly.
Why the FANUC amplifier battery alarm does not clear after a new cell is installed
On FANUC servo amplifiers, the battery alarm is a latched fault — it does not self-clear once a new cell is fitted. The controller sets the alarm flag in non-volatile status memory when voltage drops below the retention threshold. That flag stays set until it is manually acknowledged and reset through the FANUC programming software or operator panel. Fitting a new cell restores voltage but does not write to the alarm register. Navigate to the alarm history or battery status screen in the software and issue a manual reset to clear the fault.
New cell reading below 6V immediately after installation
Li-MnO2 cells are shipped at a reduced storage voltage to slow self-discharge during transit and warehousing — a reading of 5.6V to 5.8V on a fresh cell is normal. Once installed, the amplifier's float charge circuit brings the cell up to its rated voltage within a few hours of powered operation. Do not assume the cell is faulty based on an initial low reading. Recheck voltage after four hours of powered run time — it should register at or above 5.9V.

Frequently Asked Questions
The FANUC amplifier lost all its parameters after I swapped the battery — what happened?
The SRAM on these amplifiers is volatile without backup power — pulling the old cell while the unit was powered off erased the stored data instantly. The new battery cannot recover parameters that were already lost. A full parameter reload from the programming device or a saved backup file is required. Reconnect the programming terminal, load the last known-good parameter file, and verify axis data before returning the machine to cycle.
The clock on the FANUC amplifier is showing the wrong date and time after the battery replacement — how do I fix it?
The RTC lost its reference during the power-off swap, or the cell voltage dropped low enough before replacement that the clock register reset. The new cell does not automatically restore the time — it only prevents future loss. Open the date and time settings in the FANUC programming software or operator panel and enter the correct values manually. Set the clock while the unit is powered and confirm it holds after a short mains cycle.
We're replacing this battery more often than the expected service interval — what shortens the cell life?
Li-MnO2 self-discharge roughly doubles for every 10°C rise above 20°C — an amplifier cabinet running at 40°C or above will consume a cell significantly faster than the rated shelf life. Check the enclosure temperature during peak machine operation and compare it against the cell's rated storage range. If the cabinet is running hot, improving ventilation or adding a small fan to the panel reduces thermal load on the cell. As a baseline, measure cell voltage at each scheduled maintenance visit and flag any cell below 5.5V for immediate replacement.
