Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic BR-AGCF2W — 6V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery (BR-ACF2P / BR-AGCF2P)
This is a 6V 2200mAh lithium manganese dioxide cell that replaces Panasonic BR-AGCF2W, BR-ACF2P, and BR-AGCF2P part numbers. It fits PLCs and industrial controllers where a dedicated backup cell maintains SRAM program memory and real-time clock data when main power drops. Dimensions are 45mm × 34mm × 17mm — verify physical fit before ordering.
- PLC backup cell application: These three Panasonic part numbers share the same voltage rail, footprint, and connector. They power only the SRAM retention and RTC circuits — draw is microamp-level, but voltage must stay above the controller's memory-hold threshold or the program is gone.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We confirmed open-circuit voltage at 6.0V on delivery and verified stable load response under the microamp drain typical of PLC memory retention circuits. The cell held voltage within spec across the full test window.
- Hot-swap protocol — critical for this cell type: Always replace this battery with the PLC powered on and in RUN mode. Removing the cell while the controller is off collapses SRAM voltage instantly. If that happens, the program is erased and must be reloaded from a connected programming device.
PLC losing program memory after battery swap
SRAM in most PLCs is entirely battery-backed — there is no secondary hold circuit. The moment this cell is disconnected and the controller loses main power, SRAM voltage collapses in milliseconds. If the swap was done with the PLC powered off, or if the controller de-energised during the swap, the program is gone. The fix is a full program reload via the programming terminal — there is no recovery from SRAM loss without it. Prevent this by always confirming main power is live and the PLC is in RUN mode before touching the battery connector.
Battery alarm not clearing after the new cell is installed
Most PLCs latch the low-battery alarm in firmware — it does not reset automatically when a new cell is fitted. The alarm stays active until it is cleared manually in the programming software, typically through the diagnostic or status menu. On some controllers the cell also needs a short float period to rise from storage voltage before the firmware accepts it as healthy. If the alarm persists after clearing, check the cell voltage under load — it should read at or above 5.8V within a few hours of installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My PLC is showing a battery alarm but I just put a new cell in — why won't it clear?
The alarm is latched in the PLC firmware and does not reset itself when a new battery is installed. You need to clear it manually through the programming software — look in the diagnostics or controller status menu. Some controllers also won't accept the new cell as healthy until it rises from storage voltage, which can take a few hours on the PLC's float circuit. Clear the alarm, wait two to four hours, then check again — the cell should read at or above 5.8V at that point.
The date and time on my PLC are wrong after I replaced the battery — did something go wrong?
The real-time clock lost power during the swap, which resets it to a default or zero state. This happens even if the swap was fast — the RTC circuit has no independent hold capacitor on most PLCs that use this cell. No data was corrupted; the clock simply needs to be reset. Open the programming software, navigate to the RTC or clock settings, and enter the correct date and time manually.
This battery seems to need replacing more often than the rated service life — what causes that?
Enclosure temperature is the main factor. Li-MnO2 self-discharge roughly doubles for every 10°C rise above 20°C, so a PLC cabinet running at 40°C to 50°C will deplete this cell significantly faster than the datasheet figure suggests. Check the ambient temperature inside the cabinet with a thermometer. If it's consistently above 35°C, improve ventilation or add a cabinet cooler — that single change typically brings replacement intervals back in line with the rated capacity.
