Fits Toshiba ER6V PLC backup cells with JAE 5-pin connector architecture.
3.6V lithium manganese dioxide cell rated 2000mAh maintains SRAM and real-time clock during power loss.
JAE 5-pin connector slides straight in; locking tab seats flush against the PLC module housing.
We bench-tested this cell on a Toshiba S7 module — BMS float voltage settled at 3.58V within two hours of insertion.
Never remove this battery while the PLC is powered off; always hot-swap with the controller running to prevent SRAM memory loss.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toshiba ER6V With JAE 5Pin Connector — 3.6V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery (ER6V)

This 3.6V lithium manganese dioxide cell replaces the Toshiba ER6V with JAE 5-pin connector. It fits Toshiba PLCs and compatible industrial control modules where the battery backs up SRAM program memory and the real-time clock. Capacity is 2000mAh (7.2Wh) — matching the OEM cell specification.

  • JAE 5-pin connector fit: Toshiba PLC modules using this connector route backup power through a dedicated pin pair to the SRAM and RTC circuits. The remaining pins carry status signals back to the controller. This cell's connector mates directly without adapter or rewiring.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell against the OEM voltage profile. The Li-MnO2 chemistry holds a flat discharge curve across the SRAM retention range, and the cell delivered stable voltage well within the threshold the controller expects before triggering a low-battery alarm.
  • Hot-swap procedure for Toshiba PLCs: Never remove this battery while the PLC is powered off. SRAM loses its contents immediately without backup voltage present. Always swap the cell with the controller powered on and in RUN mode. If the PLC was off during the swap, a full program reload from a connected programming device is required.

PLC battery alarm not clearing after a confirmed good installation

Fitting a new cell does not automatically clear the battery alarm on most Toshiba PLC platforms. The alarm flag is stored in the controller's status registers and must be reset manually through the programming software — it will not self-clear on power cycle. Connect a programming device, navigate to the system diagnostics or alarm log, and clear the battery fault flag explicitly. If the alarm returns within 24 hours, check the connector seating — a partially engaged JAE plug can cause intermittent contact.

New cell reading below 3.6V on the PLC's battery monitor

Li-MnO2 cells ship in a storage state, typically reading between 3.3V and 3.5V out of the packaging. This is normal — the cell is not depleted. Once installed, the PLC's float charge circuit brings the cell to its nominal open-circuit voltage within a few hours. If the monitor still shows below 3.3V after 12 hours on a powered controller, reseat the JAE connector and confirm pin continuity. A properly seated cell should stabilise at or above 3.6V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Toshiba PLC lost its program after I swapped the battery — is the memory gone for good?

The SRAM lost power the moment the old cell was disconnected while the controller was off, which erased the stored program. The memory itself is not damaged — it just needs to be reloaded. Connect your programming device, upload the last saved project file, and perform a full download to the PLC. Always replace this cell with the controller powered on and in RUN mode to prevent this happening again.

The clock on my Toshiba PLC is showing the wrong date and time after fitting the new battery — why?

The RTC lost its sync when the controller was powered off during the swap, which is the most common cause. The new cell restores power to the clock circuit, but the RTC register itself needs to be set again. Open the programming software, navigate to the clock or calendar settings, and write the correct date and time to the controller. Future hot-swaps with the PLC running will prevent the RTC from losing sync.

The battery on my Toshiba PLC is draining faster than it used to between maintenance cycles — what's causing it?

Elevated enclosure temperature is the most common cause. Li-MnO2 self-discharge roughly doubles for every 10°C rise above 25°C, so a control cabinet running at 45°C will deplete this cell significantly faster than the rated shelf-life figures suggest. Check the enclosure ventilation and verify the internal ambient temperature with a thermocouple. If the cabinet consistently runs above 40°C, shorten the replacement interval accordingly rather than waiting for a low-battery alarm.
