Fits Birchmeier REC 15 AC1, REC 15 AC2, REC 15 PC1, and REX 15 AC1 sprayers; replaces OEM part numbers 12070301, 12070401, and 12070501.
18V nominal voltage with 6000mAh capacity delivers sustained pressure across the pump motor without voltage sag during continuous spray cycles.
M4 threaded connector mates flush to the REC 15 housing with a spring-loaded retention tab; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested this cell on a REC 15 AC1 pump load and confirmed the BMS held steady through 40-minute spray runs without thermal cutoff.
On first activation with a REC 15 sprayer, run the pump at half throttle for two cycles before full-pressure application; allows the BMS to establish motor inrush thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Birchmeier REC 15 AC1 / REC 15 AC2 / REX 15 AC1 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (12070301)

This 18V 6000mAh lithium-ion battery pack replaces OEM part numbers 12070301, 12070401, and 12070501. It fits the Birchmeier REC 15 AC1, REC 15 AC2, REC 15 PC1, REX 15 AC1, and nine additional models in the same cordless sprayer family. Capacity is 108Wh — identical to the original pack.

  • REC/REX series compatibility: These models share the same 18V power rail, physical connector, and BMS handshake protocol. The pump motor draw and spray control logic were validated against the same battery interface across the AC1, AC2, and PC1 variants, so one pack covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated pump-start and sustained spray load sequences. The BMS held the 18V rail steady through motor inrush and managed cell balancing without nuisance trips during extended continuous operation.
  • Pump motor inrush protection: On first use, run the sprayer at low pressure for two full tank cycles before switching to maximum pump speed. This allows the BMS to profile the motor's inrush current signature and set overcurrent thresholds accurately before you push peak draw.

BMS cutoff on sprayer pump start surge

The REC 15 pump motor pulls a sharp inrush current spike the moment the trigger opens. On a new or recently stored pack, the BMS may read that spike as an overcurrent fault and cut the output immediately. This is a protection threshold issue, not a dead cell. Running two low-pressure cycles first lets the BMS log the actual inrush profile and widen its trip window accordingly. After conditioning, sustained pump operation at full pressure should clear without interruption.

Charger not recognising pack after storage

If the Birchmeier charger shows a fault light or refuses to initiate charging on a pack that has been stored, the cells have likely discharged below the charger's acceptance voltage — typically under 2.5V per cell. Most Li-ion chargers won't begin a standard charge cycle below this threshold. Place the pack in the charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without removing it; many chargers run a slow recovery pulse below 12V total rail before switching to normal charge mode. If the charger accepts the pack after that window, let it complete a full charge to 21.6V before first use.

Frequently Asked Questions

The sprayer cuts out the moment I pull the trigger — battery or motor fault?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. The pump motor draws a hard inrush spike at trigger-pull, and on a new or cold pack the BMS protection threshold can be tight enough to interpret that spike as a fault. Run the sprayer at minimum pressure for two full cycles — the BMS logs the inrush signature and adjusts. If cutouts stop after conditioning, the pack is functioning correctly.

Battery gets very warm during a long spray session and then the sprayer stops — what's happening?

Sustained pump operation generates heat in both the motor housing and the cell pack. When cell temperature exceeds the BMS thermal cutoff threshold, the pack shuts output to prevent damage. Remove the battery, let it cool to ambient temperature — roughly 15 minutes in open air — then reinsert. To reduce recurrence, pause spraying every 30–40 minutes of continuous use to let the pack shed heat before the thermal limit is reached.

The sprayer runs but pressure feels low and the pump bogs under load — is the battery failing?

This symptom points to voltage sag — the 18V rail drops under pump load due to rising internal resistance in aged or repeatedly shallow-cycled cells. Check the battery contacts on both the pack and the sprayer body for corrosion or debris, as poor contact resistance amplifies sag. If contacts are clean, the pack has likely lost usable capacity from repeated short discharge cycles. A full discharge followed by a complete charge to 21.6V can partially recover cells in early-stage degradation, but a pack showing this consistently under normal load needs replacement.
