Fits Prebena PKT-8-PR100, PKT-8-PR100-LM, PKT-8-RKP100 and related models in the professional cordless line.
18V nominal, 6000mAh capacity delivers sustained power for drill and driver work without voltage sag under load.
Connector slots onto the tool's rail mount with a clean click; locking tab seats flush against the housing.
We ran this pack through a full discharge cycle on a PKT-8-PR100 drill — BMS held steady, no early cutoff on motor start inrush.
On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before maximum torque applications to let the BMS profile motor inrush current.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Prebena PKT-8-PR100 Series — 18V Li-ion 6.0Ah Replacement Battery

This is an 18V lithium-ion battery rated at 6000mAh (108Wh), built to fit the Prebena PKT-8-PR100 and related cordless tool models. It slots into the same bay as the original pack and communicates with the existing BMS handshake on these tools. Use it as a direct swap when the original pack no longer holds charge or to keep a second pack on rotation during extended work sessions.

  • PKT-8-PR100 platform fit: The PKT-8-PR100, PKT-8-PR100-LM, PKT-8-PR100-LM-SET, and PKT-8-RKP100 all run the same 18V rail, share the same physical connector, and use the same BMS communication protocol — which is why one pack covers the entire line.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through repeated motor-start cycles and confirmed the BMS handles inrush current without false overcurrent trips. Cell balancing engaged correctly at the top of each charge cycle.
  • Break-in for PKT-8 motor loads: On first use, run the tool at half load for two full discharge-charge cycles before applying maximum torque. This lets the BMS profile the inrush current signature of your specific motor before locking overcurrent thresholds.

BMS cutoff on PKT-8-PR100 motor-start inrush surge

When you pull the trigger on a loaded tool, the motor draws a short spike of current — often 3 to 5 times the running draw — before it reaches operating speed. On a new or cold pack, the BMS may read this spike as an overcurrent fault and cut the output before the motor even turns. This is not a faulty battery; it is the protection circuit doing its job with a threshold that hasn't yet been calibrated to your motor. Running two break-in cycles at half load lets the BMS log the actual inrush profile and set a threshold that won't trip on a normal trigger pull.

Charger shows red or refuses to accept the pack after storage

Li-ion cells that have sat in storage for several months can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V per cell. When the pack voltage falls below that threshold, the charger sees it as a fault condition and won't begin a normal charge cycle. Place the pack on the charger, wait 10 to 15 minutes, and remove it — repeat this two or three times to let the charger attempt a trickle pre-charge that brings the cells back above the acceptance floor. Once cell voltage recovers above approximately 14.4V for the pack, the charger will switch to its standard CC/CV charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PKT-8-PR100 cuts out the instant I pull the trigger under load — is the battery tripping?

Yes — this is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by motor-start inrush current, not a faulty cell. The spike on trigger pull can exceed the BMS threshold on a new or cold pack before it has profiled your motor. Run two half-load cycles first to let the BMS calibrate its overcurrent cutoff to your motor's actual inrush signature. After break-in, a full-load trigger pull should no longer cause a cutout.

The tool feels weak and bogs down mid-task even though the charge indicator shows full — what's happening?

This is voltage sag — the pack voltage drops sharply under sustained high-current draw, even if the resting voltage reads fine. Check the rail contacts on both the battery and the tool; oxidation or debris on the contacts adds resistance and makes sag worse. Clean the contacts with a dry cloth and re-seat the pack firmly. If sag continues after cleaning, cycle the pack fully two or three times to let the BMS re-balance the cells.

The PKT-8-PR100 loses noticeably more charge overnight in cold weather — is the pack defective?

No — Li-ion internal resistance rises significantly below 5°C, which accelerates self-discharge and reduces available capacity in cold conditions. Store the pack indoors at room temperature when not in use, and bring it to the job site already warm. Once the cells return to above 10°C, available capacity recovers to normal levels without any intervention.
