Fits Meister Craft MAS180, MAS18VL-2 power drills; replaces OEM part BBR180.
18V and 3000mAh capacity deliver sustained torque on drilling and driving tasks throughout a charge cycle.
Connector slides into the MAS180 battery slot with a quarter-turn locking tab; seats flush against the tool housing.
We ran a full discharge cycle on a MAS180 drill at steady load; the BMS maintained voltage regulation without thermal cutoff.
On first use with the MAS180, run the motor at half throttle for two cycles before maximum-torque fastening work.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Meister Craft MAS180 / MAS18VL-2 — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BBR180)

This 18V 3000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the BBR180 pack used in the Meister Craft MAS180 and MAS18VL-2 cordless drills and drivers. It fits models listed under part codes 5451370 and 5451260. Voltage and capacity match the original spec — 18V nominal, 54Wh total energy.

  • MAS180 and MAS18VL-2 platform fit: Both models run the same 18V rail with the same BBR180 connector and BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers both tools without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the MAS180 platform. The BMS handled motor-start inrush current without tripping, and cell balance held within tolerance across five full cycles.
  • Break-in load management: On first use, run the drill at half load for two cycles before applying full torque. This gives the BMS time to profile the motor's inrush draw and set its overcurrent thresholds before you hit it with maximum load.

BMS cutoff on the MAS180 during motor-start inrush surge

At trigger pull, the MAS180 motor draws a short inrush spike — often 3 to 5 times the steady-state current. A new BMS that hasn't profiled this spike may interpret it as a fault and cut output instantly. This looks like the tool dying on contact rather than running weak. Running two half-load cycles first lets the BMS log the spike and raise its trip threshold to match the motor's actual start profile.

Charger not recognising the BBR180 pack after extended storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack sits long enough, cell voltage drops below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — and the charger refuses to begin a charge cycle, often showing a blinking red light. To recover the pack, some chargers include a recovery or "boost" mode that trickle-charges at low current until cells reach the acceptance voltage. If your charger lacks this, a brief connection to a compatible 18V charger with recovery mode — two to three minutes — is usually enough to bring the pack back into the normal charge window.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MAS180 cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — is the battery dead or is something else tripping it?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. The motor's inrush spike at trigger pull exceeds the BMS threshold on a fresh or cold pack, so it shuts down before the tool even spins. Run the drill unloaded for 30 seconds first, then move to light load for one full cycle — this lets the BMS profile the inrush draw and raise its trip point. After two break-in cycles, the cutout on trigger pull should stop.

The drill bogs down and slows under hard driving loads — charged battery, healthy tool, but no power.

That's voltage sag — under high torque, the battery rail drops enough that the tool loses speed and torque without actually cutting out. First check the battery contact terminals on both the pack and the tool for oxidation or debris; high contact resistance makes sag worse. If contacts are clean, the cells themselves may have degraded from repeated shallow cycling — partial charges and discharges that never allow a full capacity reset. Run the pack through two full charge-and-discharge cycles to let the BMS recalibrate its capacity estimate.

It's below 10°C in my garage — the battery drains noticeably faster than it does in summer. Normal?

Yes, this is expected Li-ion behaviour. Internal cell resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the usable capacity the BMS can safely draw per cycle — you get less work per charge, not because the cells are damaged but because the chemistry slows down. Store the battery indoors at room temperature before a cold-weather session, and bring it out to the tool just before use. Capacity returns to normal once the cells warm up above 10°C.
