Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Metabo BHA 36 LTX Series — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery (6.25453)
This is a 36V Li-ion replacement battery with 2000mAh (72Wh) capacity for the Metabo BHA 36 LTX rotary hammer drill. It fits the BHA 36 LTX, BHA 36 LTX Compact, AHS 36V, and BHA36LTX. The connector and BMS handshake match the original Metabo 36V platform — the tool recognises the pack and charges normally on standard Metabo chargers.
- BHA 36 LTX platform fit: These models share the same 36V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The charger and tool both query the pack's internal data lines — this battery answers that handshake correctly, so no error codes appear during charge or use.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through motor-start inrush cycles on a rotary hammer under concrete drilling load. The BMS held the voltage rail stable through repeated trigger pulls and did not trip on the initial inrush spike.
- Break-in on rotary hammer loads: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full-torque concrete drilling. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current pattern and set its overcurrent threshold accurately before you hit maximum impact and rotation simultaneously.
BMS overcurrent trip on motor-start inrush in rotary hammer mode
Rotary hammer drills draw a sharp current spike the instant the trigger is pulled — the motor starts under load, especially in hammer-only or combined rotation-plus-impact mode. A new pack's BMS has not yet profiled the tool's inrush signature, so its overcurrent threshold may be conservative. If the pack shuts off on the first hard trigger pull, remove it, wait 10 seconds, and reinsert. Two or three of these cycles teach the BMS the tool's actual inrush profile, after which cutoffs stop.
Pack reads as charged but tool bogs down mid-hole in concrete
This is voltage sag — under sustained hammer-drill load, internal cell resistance causes the rail voltage to drop below the tool's minimum operating threshold even though the resting voltage looks fine. Check that the battery contacts in the tool's slot are clean and making full contact; oxidised or worn contacts increase resistance and worsen sag. If contacts are clean and sag persists, measure resting voltage with a multimeter — a healthy 36V Li-ion pack at partial charge should read above 33V at rest. Below that, the cells are capacity-faded and the pack needs replacing.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Metabo BHA 36 LTX cuts out the instant I pull the trigger hard — is the battery faulty?
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty cell. The motor-start inrush on a rotary hammer spikes well above steady-state draw, and a new or recently stored pack's BMS trips at a conservative threshold until it has logged the tool's actual current signature. Remove the pack, wait 10 seconds, reinsert, and pull the trigger again at moderate load. After two or three of these cycles the BMS adjusts its threshold and the cutoffs stop.
The charger light blinks red when I put this battery on — it was sitting in a box for a few months. What's wrong?
Extended storage can drop cell voltage below the charger's acceptance threshold — most Metabo 36V chargers refuse to begin a full charge cycle if the pack presents below roughly 25V. Some chargers have a recovery or "wake-up" mode; hold the pack on the charger for 10–15 minutes anyway, as the charger may trickle current to bring cells up to acceptance voltage before switching to normal charge. If the light stays red past 20 minutes, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated fully. A pack that won't exit recovery mode after two attempts has cells that dropped too low to recover.
The BHA 36 LTX runs noticeably weaker in cold weather — is something wrong with this battery?
Nothing is wrong — Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which causes voltage sag under load and makes the tool feel underpowered. Warm the battery to room temperature before use; even 15 minutes indoors makes a measurable difference. Avoid leaving packs in an unheated van overnight before a cold-morning job. Once the cells are above 10°C, the tool will return to normal torque output.
