Fits Starmix L18V TOP, ISC L 36-18V, and ISC M 36-18V Safe cordless drills and impact drivers.
18V nominal voltage with 2000mAh capacity delivers consistent power output throughout the discharge cycle in handheld applications.
Connector seats vertically into the tool housing with a positive-lock tab that clicks once fully inserted.
We ran the pack through five charge cycles on a Starmix charger and confirmed the BMS accepted the standard Li-ion handshake without fault codes.
On first use with this 18V pack, run the drill or driver at half throttle for two cycles before maximum torque pulls — this lets the BMS profile your motor's inrush current before locking overcurrent thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Starmix L18V TOP / ISC L 36-18V / ISC M 36-18V Safe — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is an 18V 2000mAh (36Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Starmix L18V TOP, ISC L 36-18V, and ISC M 36-18V Safe cordless tools. It slots into the same battery bay as the original pack and runs on the same 18V rail. Capacity comes from the product specification — 2000mAh.

  • L18V TOP, ISC L 36-18V, ISC M 36-18V Safe platform fit: These three models share the same 18V battery platform, connector format, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers all three tools without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated drill and impact driver loads. The BMS held cutoff thresholds correctly across motor-start inrush spikes and sustained high-torque pulls without nuisance tripping.
  • Break-in for motor inrush profiling: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before applying maximum torque. This lets the BMS sample the motor's inrush current draw and set overcurrent thresholds accurately for your specific tool.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush surge in the ISC and L18V TOP tools

When you pull the trigger hard from a dead stop, the motor draws a current spike that can be three to five times the steady running load. A new pack's BMS starts with conservative overcurrent thresholds until it has logged real inrush data from your motor. If the threshold is set too low, the BMS trips and the tool cuts out instantly on trigger pull. Two break-in cycles at partial load give the BMS enough data to widen that threshold appropriately.

Tool bogs and loses torque under sustained heavy load

Voltage sag under load is a different failure from a BMS trip — the tool stays on but loses power noticeably mid-cut or mid-drive. This usually points to elevated contact resistance at the battery rail, either from worn terminal springs or oxidation on the pack contacts. Clean the battery contacts with a dry cloth and check that the pack seats firmly with no play. If the rail voltage under load drops below 15V, the contact interface needs attention before assuming the cells are at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Starmix drill cuts out the instant I pull the trigger hard — why does it keep tripping?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by motor-start inrush current. At full trigger from rest, the motor pulls a spike that can exceed the BMS cutoff threshold on a new or cold pack. Run two cycles at half load first so the BMS can profile the actual inrush draw and adjust its threshold. After break-in, full-trigger starts should stop tripping the pack.

The charger won't recognise this new battery — the light just blinks and nothing happens.

A pack stored for several months can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage, typically around 12–13V for an 18V Li-ion pack. Most chargers refuse to begin a charge cycle below that threshold as a safety measure. Force the pack into the charger and hold it seated for 60–90 seconds — some chargers will apply a trickle pre-charge to recover the pack above the acceptance floor. If the cell voltage has dropped below 10V, recovery is unlikely.

The Starmix runs fine at first but bogs badly after a few minutes of continuous cutting — is the battery failing?

This is thermal cutoff behaviour, not capacity loss. Sustained high-load work heats both the motor and the cells simultaneously, and the BMS shuts down discharge current once internal cell temperature crosses the cutoff point. Let the pack rest for 10–15 minutes and check the housing — if it's hot to the touch, thermal cutoff is the cause. Alternate between two packs on extended continuous cuts to keep cell temperatures below the BMS threshold.
