Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1423304834)
This 3.7V, 110mAh Li-Polymer battery is a direct replacement for the Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote. It fits the internal rechargeable cell that powers the remote's slide control, spotlight highlight, and timer functions. When the original cell degrades, charge cycles shorten and the remote may cut out mid-presentation.
- Spotlight Remote platform fit: The Spotlight uses a single compact Li-Polymer cell — part number 1423304834 — that integrates directly with the onboard charge circuit. The cell's 3.7V nominal voltage matches the USB-C charging path and the BLE radio draw without requiring a step-down stage.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Spotlight's charge cycle via USB-C and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault flags. The protection circuit responded correctly to both charge termination and low-voltage cutoff events.
- USB-C charge behaviour after cell swap: After replacing the internal cell, plug the remote into USB-C before first use. The charge controller needs to read the new cell's resting voltage to set its charge curve correctly — powering it on before that initial charge can cause the indicator to misreport battery level.
Why the Spotlight remote cuts out during a live presentation
The Spotlight's BLE radio draws a burst of current each time a button is pressed to transmit a command. As the internal Li-Polymer cell ages, its internal resistance rises — enough that a single button press can cause a voltage sag that trips the low-voltage protection circuit. The remote appears to power off or freeze mid-use, then recovers after a few seconds. This is a cell failure, not a pairing issue. A fresh 110mAh cell at full charge resolves the sag at source.
Battery percentage stuck at 100% or dropping suddenly to 0%
The Spotlight reports battery level to the Logitech Presentation software via BLE, but the reading is based on the charge controller's calibration data for the original cell. After a cell replacement, that calibration is out of sync. The remote may report full charge for days, then jump to empty without warning. To re-calibrate, fully charge the remote until the LED confirms charge complete, then run it down to automatic cutoff — one full discharge cycle resets the fuel gauge reference points to the new cell's actual capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Spotlight remote stopped working right after I replaced the battery — what did I do wrong?
The most common cause is a connection issue at the cell terminals during reassembly — the Li-Polymer cell's flex connector can seat partially and pass no power at all. Open the remote and press the connector firmly until it clicks flat. If the remote still doesn't respond, check that the cell is showing at least 3.5V with a multimeter before reinstalling it.
The Spotlight remote works, but I have to stand much closer to my laptop than before — is that the battery?
Yes. The BLE radio in the Spotlight needs a minimum supply voltage to transmit at full power. A partially depleted or degraded cell drops below that threshold and the radio reduces its output range. The remote still functions at close range but loses reach. Charge the remote fully via USB-C and test again — if range is still reduced after a full charge on a new cell, the antenna connection on the board needs inspection.
The new battery drains noticeably faster than the original did — what causes that?
Two likely causes: a stuck or binding button creating a constant low-level drain through the switch contacts, or the charge controller not completing a full charge cycle because the USB-C cable was removed early. Press each button to confirm none are physically stuck in the housing. Then do one full charge until the LED confirms completion — a partial first charge leaves the cell operating below its rated 110mAh capacity and it will appear to drain faster than expected.
