Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Pronto TSU-9200 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (2422 526 00193)
This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Philips Pronto TSU-9200 universal remote control. It fits the TSU-9200, TSU9200/37, and TSU920037 variants. The battery powers the remote's IR transmitter, touchscreen display, and onboard memory that stores device codes and macros.
- TSU-9200 variant compatibility: The TSU-9200, TSU9200/37, and TSU920037 all use the same single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with OEM part number 2422 526 00193. They share the same connector pinout and BMS handshake, so one replacement covers all three variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a TSU-9200 and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge cycle without triggering low-voltage lockout. IR transmission output held consistent across the full discharge curve above the cutoff threshold.
- Pronto memory retention during swap: The TSU-9200 stores custom device configurations and macros in onboard flash memory. That data persists through a battery swap — you do not need to reprogram the remote after fitting this replacement.
Why the TSU-9200 touchscreen stays blank after a battery change
If the screen does not light up after fitting a new cell, the BMS may have entered deep-discharge protection during the time the remote sat unused. The battery needs a trickle charge before the protection circuit resets and allows current to flow to the display. Place the remote on charge for at least 15 minutes before pressing any button. If the screen still does not respond, check that the connector is fully seated — the Pronto's battery bay connector can appear locked when it is still one click short.
Remote needs to be held much closer to the TV after new battery install
This usually means the cell is not delivering full voltage to the IR LED driver circuit. On the TSU-9200, the IR output stage drops off noticeably when supply voltage sags below around 3.5V. A brand-new Li-ion cell shipped in storage state may read as low as 3.2V out of the box. Charge the battery fully before use — the operating voltage needs to sit above 3.6V for the IR emitter to reach normal working range.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Philips Pronto TSU-9200 does nothing after I fitted the new battery — no screen, no response at all. What's wrong?
The most likely cause is polarity reversal — the Li-ion pack has a keyed connector, but it is possible to seat it off-centre or with the positive and negative contacts reversed on aftermarket installs. Remove the battery, check the orientation against the markings in the battery bay, and reseat it firmly until it clicks. If orientation is correct and there is still no response, the BMS may be in deep-discharge lockout — leave it on charge for 20 minutes before powering on.
The TSU-9200 battery drains noticeably faster than I'd expect. Nothing seems stuck, but it goes flat within a few days even when I barely use it.
A stuck or partially depressed button on the touchscreen can cause the remote to continuously poll its IR circuits, drawing current even when it looks idle. Press each button firmly and check for any that feel spongy or do not spring back cleanly. If all buttons release correctly, check whether the backlight timeout setting in the Pronto's configuration menu is set to a very short interval — a backlight that cycles on frequently from accidental touches is a common parasitic drain source on this model.
After a few weeks the TSU-9200 is already needing to be closer to the TV to work. The battery is relatively new — is this normal?
It is not normal if the battery is only a few weeks old. On the TSU-9200, reduced IR range at this stage usually points to shallow cycling — the battery is being topped up from a high state of charge repeatedly without ever fully discharging. This compresses the usable voltage window over time, so peak IR output drops earlier in the discharge curve. Let the battery run down to the low-battery warning before the next charge, then charge it fully to 4.2V to recalibrate the cell's working range.
