Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Directed Electronics JFC 7752 / JFC 7941 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 120mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell inside Directed Electronics remote transmitters for the JFC 7752 and JFC 7941 models. These remotes control vehicle remote start and keyless entry functions. No OEM part number exists for this cell — match by model number and physical dimensions: 24.70 x 20.30 x 3.70mm.

  • JFC 7752 and JFC 7941 compatibility: Both remotes run the same 3.7V Li-Polymer cell on the same PCB footprint. The connector orientation and cell dimensions are identical across these two models, so one replacement covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under the transmitter's BMS. The protection circuit responded correctly to full charge cutoff and low-voltage cutoff — no thermal events, no BMS lockout during testing.
  • Re-sync after battery swap: Directed Electronics remote start systems lose their pairing handshake when the remote loses power. After fitting the new cell, stand within three metres of the vehicle and run the system's programming sequence before testing remote start or entry functions.

Remote start not activating after battery swap

Directed Electronics control modules use a rolling code protocol. When the remote loses power — even briefly during a battery swap — the rolling code counter in the remote resets out of sync with the module. The module rejects commands it doesn't recognise as valid. Run the system's full re-programming sequence from the installation guide to re-sync the remote, then test the start function from close range first.

Reduced range in the first few uses after replacement

Li-Polymer cells ship at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — not at full charge. At storage voltage, the transmitter's RF output is slightly lower than at a full 4.2V charge. Range normalises once the cell completes its first full charge cycle. Charge the remote fully before expecting maximum transmission distance.

Frequently Asked Questions

My remote start stopped working right after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

The rolling code in the JFC 7752 or JFC 7941 remote resets when power is interrupted, even for a few seconds during a swap. The control module then rejects the out-of-sync commands. You need to run the re-programming sequence from the Directed Electronics installation guide to re-pair the remote to the module. Do this within three metres of the vehicle before testing any remote start or entry functions.

The vehicle alarm triggered when I replaced the remote battery — how do I clear it?

Some Directed Electronics control modules flag a tamper event when the remote goes offline unexpectedly during a battery swap. The module interprets the sudden signal loss as a potential security breach and trips the alarm. Use the system's dedicated disarm sequence — typically holding a specific button combination on a secondary remote or entering the override code at the vehicle — to clear the fault. Check your system's installation guide for the exact disarm steps for your control module model.

Keyless entry won't respond after the battery swap, but remote start works fine — why?

Remote start and keyless entry functions can lose sync independently in rolling-code systems. If remote start re-paired but door lock and unlock commands are still ignored, the entry function needs its own re-sync step. Hold the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously while standing within one metre of the vehicle's antenna, then release and test each button individually. If the module still doesn't respond, repeat the full programming sequence starting from step one in the installation guide.
