Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Python 7857P — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (JFC301819)

This 3.7V, 70mAh lithium polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Python 7857P wireless remote transmitter. It fits the handheld remote used to activate remote start and control door locks from a distance. Swap it in when the remote stops responding or no longer holds a charge between uses.

  • 7857P remote fit: The 7857P transmitter uses a compact LiPo cell on a fixed 3.7V rail. The JFC301819 cell matches the original footprint at 18.50 × 16.40 × 3.80mm, so it seats correctly against the internal contacts without spacers or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a remote transmitter platform. The BMS held stable at 3.7V nominal, with no false low-battery cutoffs during button-press bursts.
  • Re-sync the remote after replacement: Python remote start systems require a programming sequence after any power interruption to the transmitter. Once the new battery is in, follow the 7857P sync procedure — enter programming mode via the control module before testing range.

Remote start not activating after battery swap

The 7857P control module communicates with the remote using a rolling code. When the transmitter loses power — even briefly during a battery swap — the rolling code sequence falls out of sync with the module. The remote sends valid signals, but the module rejects them as unrecognised. Run the full Python programming sequence with the transmitter held within one metre of the antenna to re-establish the link.

Alarm triggering when swapping the 7857P battery

Some Python installations treat a sudden power loss at the remote as a tamper event, triggering the vehicle alarm through the control module. This happens because the module loses its periodic check-in signal from the transmitter. Before pulling the old cell, use the system's disarm sequence — typically holding the lock button on the remote or entering the override code — to put the module in a passive state. Restore power with the new battery, then re-sync to exit tamper mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Python 7857P remote sends a signal but the car doesn't respond — why does swapping the battery cause this?

A battery swap interrupts power to the transmitter, which resets the rolling code counter inside the remote. The 7857P control module expects the next code in the sequence — when the numbers don't match, it ignores the signal entirely. This isn't a faulty battery; it's a sync issue. Run the Python programming sequence with the remote held close to the vehicle's antenna to re-link the transmitter and module.

Range dropped significantly right after fitting the new battery — is the cell defective?

New LiPo cells ship at storage voltage, typically around 3.5–3.6V, not the full 3.7V nominal. At storage voltage, transmit power is slightly reduced, which shortens range noticeably. This normalises after the remote has been used a few times and the cell cycles up to its operating voltage. If range is still short after five or six uses, check that the battery contacts inside the 7857P remote are clean and making firm contact with the cell terminals.

The vehicle alarm went off the moment I finished swapping the battery — what triggered it?

The Python control module sends a periodic check-in to the transmitter. When the remote loses power during a swap, that check-in fails, and some module configurations interpret the silence as a tamper event and trigger the alarm. Before removing the old cell next time, use the system's override or disarm sequence to put the module into a passive state. If the alarm has already fired, enter the four-digit override code or use the valet switch to disarm, then re-sync the remote.
