Fits Bartschneider EP50, EP60, EP80, EP100 shavers; replaces OEM 1.2V Ni-MH pack that powers rotary motor and cutting head.
1.2V 1800mAh Ni-MH cell delivers steady voltage under motor load without the voltage sag that drops cutting speed mid-shave before the indicator shows low.
Cylindrical Ni-MH pack slides into the shaver handle with a friction fit; no connector—battery seats flush against internal spring contacts on both ends.
We bench tested this cell under sustained motor draw; the BMS delivers flat discharge voltage and holds cutoff above motor stall threshold on repeated cycles.
After installing this pack, charge fully on the dock before first use—Ni-MH cells need the initial charge cycle to reach rated capacity and motor performance.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bartschneider EP50 / EP60 / EP80 / EP100 Series — 1.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 1.2V 1800mAh Ni-MH replacement cell for Bartschneider shavers including the EP50, EP60, EP80, and EP100. It replaces the original internal battery when the shaver no longer holds charge or the motor noticeably loses speed before the indicator shows empty. Capacity matches the original at 1800mAh (2.16Wh).

  • EP50 / EP60 / EP80 / EP100 compatibility: These models share a common 1.2V single-cell Ni-MH architecture and the same physical cell format — 49.90 × 14.30 × 14.30mm. The motor drive circuit draws directly from this cell without a separate voltage regulator, so cell voltage and capacity must stay within the original spec or motor performance suffers immediately.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through load conditions matching the EP50 motor draw. The cell held stable voltage through multiple discharge cycles with no thermal events, and the charge termination responded correctly to the shaver's delta-V cutoff circuit.
  • Post-rinse charging on waterproof models: If your shaver is rinsed under the tap, dry the charging port and housing seams fully before docking. Moisture bridging the charge contacts triggers a protection fault the shaver reports as a dead battery — not a charging error. A dry cloth and 20 minutes of air time clears it.

Motor speed dropping before the indicator reaches empty

Ni-MH cells in shavers age through voltage sag — the resting voltage stays acceptable, but the cell can no longer sustain voltage under the motor's load current. The shaver's indicator reads remaining charge from resting voltage, not under-load voltage, so it shows 30–40% remaining while the motor is already starved. You feel this as a drop in cutting speed or a change in motor pitch before any low-battery warning appears. Replacing the cell restores full under-load voltage delivery and motor speed across the full discharge cycle.

Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the shaver

Ni-MH cells degrade faster when repeatedly charged from a shallow state — common in shavers that sit on a dock every night regardless of charge level. This creates a soft memory-like effect where the cell's usable capacity shrinks to match the shallow cycle window. The shaver appears fully charged but cuts out far earlier than expected. Running the cell to full depletion before a complete charge cycle at least once a week slows this drift.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bartschneider shaver gets noticeably warm after a few minutes of use — is that the new battery?

Heat during use comes from two sources in this housing: motor current and battery discharge current, both in a compact plastic shell with minimal airflow. A fresh Ni-MH cell at 1800mAh actually runs cooler than a degraded original, because a healthy cell has lower internal resistance and wastes less energy as heat. If warmth increases over time, internal resistance in the cell is rising — that's the next replacement signal. Surface temperature above 45°C during a normal shave cycle means the cell is past its service life.

The shaver charges for the full cycle but cuts out much sooner than it used to — I just replaced the battery, what's wrong?

If the shaver was stored or used with a deeply discharged cell for weeks before replacement, the charge circuit may have calibrated its delta-V cutoff to a compressed voltage window. The new cell needs two or three full discharge-and-charge cycles to let the circuit re-establish correct cutoff thresholds. Run the shaver until it stops under its own BMS cutoff, then charge fully — repeat twice. If the issue persists after three cycles, check that the dock contacts are clean and making firm contact with the shaver's charge pins.

The shaver won't charge after I cleaned it — the dock light comes on but the battery doesn't charge

This is a moisture fault, not a battery fault. Cleaning products or tap water bridging the charge contacts on the shaver body cause the BMS to trip into protection mode — the dock registers a connection, but current doesn't flow into the cell. Wipe the contact points on both the shaver and the dock with a dry cloth, then leave the shaver uncharged for at least 20–30 minutes in open air. Once the contacts are fully dry, re-dock and confirm the charge indicator advances within the first two minutes.
