Fits Bella 1590, 1590B, 1590C, 1591 and eleven other shaver models as direct OEM replacement.
1.2V 1800mAh Ni-MH cell delivers rated capacity without voltage sag under motor load.
Cylindrical cell seats into shaver housing with sliding contact pins; no locking tab required.
Bench testing showed stable voltage hold through full discharge cycles; BMS protection engaged at cutoff threshold.
Dry the charging dock completely after water exposure before inserting this cell — moisture on contacts triggers false low-battery cutoff.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bella 1590 / 1591 Series — 1.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 1.2V, 1800mAh Ni-MH rechargeable cell for the Bella 1590 electric shaver and its variants, including the 1590B, 1590C, and 1591. It restores power to the shaver's motor when the original cell has aged out or lost the ability to hold a charge. Capacity is rated at 1800mAh (2.16Wh).

  • 1590 series compatibility: The 1590, 1590B, 1590C, and 1591 all use the same single-cell Ni-MH configuration on a shared voltage rail. The cell dimensions — 49.90 x 14.30 x 14.30mm — match the original housing exactly, so no modification is needed to fit the compartment.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a shaver motor load. The BMS held within expected cutoff thresholds and the cell reached full rated capacity without thermal anomaly.
  • Charging port care after cleaning: If you rinse or wipe the shaver with cleaning products, dry the charging port completely before docking. Moisture bridging the charging contacts can trigger a protection fault that the shaver reports as a dead battery rather than a charging error.

Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the Bella 1590

Ni-MH cells used in shavers are vulnerable to shallow-cycle degradation when charged daily before the cell is meaningfully depleted. Over months, the battery's usable capacity drifts down as charge memory compresses the effective voltage window. The shaver's indicator is calibrated against a full-capacity cell, so it begins to drift — showing partial charge when the cell is already near depletion. Running the cell down to near-empty before a full recharge periodically helps recalibrate the indicator and slows further capacity compression.

Shaver motor speed dropping before the indicator shows empty

Ni-MH cells experience voltage sag under motor load before the BMS cutoff threshold is reached. The shaver motor draws a sharp current spike at startup, which pulls the cell voltage down faster than the indicator responds. This shows up as sluggish blade speed or audible motor slowdown while the indicator still shows usable charge remaining. If this happens with a new cell, check that the charging contacts are clean and making full contact — oxidised dock pins reduce charge acceptance and leave the cell starting each session below full voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bella 1590 shaver slows down mid-shave but the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?

This is voltage sag under motor load. The Ni-MH cell voltage drops faster than the indicator can track when the motor draws its running current. The indicator reads resting voltage, not load voltage, so it lags behind the real state of charge. If this is happening with a new or recently charged battery, clean the dock contacts with a dry cloth — oxidised pins reduce charge transfer and leave the cell starting each session slightly undercharged.

The shaver docked overnight but the battery still feels dead in the morning — is it the dock or the battery?

Check the charging contacts on both the shaver and the dock first. Cleaning product residue and bathroom humidity cause oxidisation on the contact pins, which breaks the charge circuit without triggering any visible fault. Wipe both sets of contacts with a dry cloth and re-dock. If the cell still won't accept charge after confirmed contact, the cell itself has likely reached end of life and needs replacement — a fully healthy Ni-MH cell at 1.2V should begin accepting charge within a few minutes of clean contact.

The shaver feels warm after extended use — is that a battery fault or a motor issue?

Some heat is normal. A Ni-MH cell at 1.2V discharges with mild internal resistance, and the shaver's compact housing traps that heat alongside motor warmth. If the shaver becomes hot to hold — not just warm — that points to the cell venting or the motor running under abnormal load, often because a worn cell is forcing the motor to work harder to maintain blade speed. Replace the cell and check whether the heat level drops back to normal during the next full discharge cycle.
