Fits Grundig G6718, G5563, G6536, G6563 shavers; replaces OEM Ni-MH cell pack 1.2V.
1.2V 1800mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers stable voltage under motor load without sag cutoff.
Connector clips onto shaver battery slot; flat contacts align with polarity marking on housing.
We bench-tested this cell on the G6718 motor load; BMS held voltage plateau through full discharge cycle.
On first charge in the dock, allow a full eight-hour cycle — Ni-MH packs need initial formation to reach rated capacity on this shaver platform.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Grundig G6718 / G5563 / G6536 / G6563 Series — 1.2V Ni-MH 1800mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 1.2V Ni-MH 1800mAh replacement battery for the Grundig G6718, G5563, G6536, G6563, and three additional compatible shaver models. It restores cordless operation when the original cell has degraded and the shaver either fails to hold a charge or cuts out under load. Dimensions are 49.90 × 14.30 × 14.30mm — a direct physical match for the original cell bay.

  • G6718 / G5563 / G6536 / G6563 cell compatibility: These models share the same cylindrical cell format, voltage rail, and internal connector orientation. Swapping cells across this group works because the shaver PCB does not perform a BMS handshake — it reads voltage directly from the cell terminals.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on shaver-class motor loads. Voltage held above 1.1V through the working window and the shaver PCB registered a full charge state without fault flags.
  • Charging port care after rinsing: If you rinse this shaver under water, wait until the charging port is completely dry before docking it. Moisture bridging the charging contacts causes a protection trip that the shaver reports as a dead battery rather than a charging error — the cell is fine, the contacts are not.

Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the G6718

Ni-MH cells in shavers are particularly vulnerable to shallow-cycle degradation. Docking the shaver every night before it depletes trains the cell to treat a partial state of charge as full capacity — the indicator drifts and usable runtime shrinks without any single obvious failure event. This happens faster in warm bathrooms where ambient heat accelerates cell memory formation. To reset the cycle, run the shaver to full cutoff twice before returning to regular dock charging.

Motor speed drops noticeably before the low-battery indicator activates

This is a voltage sag symptom, not an indicator fault. Under motor load, an aged Ni-MH cell drops below 1.0V before the shaver's voltage threshold triggers the low-battery warning — so the motor slows and foil pressure drops while the indicator still shows charge remaining. A fresh 1800mAh cell holds voltage more consistently under that same load. After fitting the new cell, run one full charge cycle to 1.45V before use to ensure the PCB recalibrates its cutoff reference correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Grundig shaver docked overnight but still cuts out after a few strokes — is the new battery faulty?

Probably not the cell. When a shaver has run on a degraded battery for months, the PCB's charge reference drifts — it terminates charging early because it expects a cell that reaches peak voltage faster than a fresh 1800mAh cell does. Run one full charge from flat to completion, then discharge fully before recharging. That resets the PCB's reference point and the shaver should hold charge correctly from the second cycle onward.

The shaver was working fine, then I rinsed it and now it won't charge at all — nothing lights up on the dock.

Water bridging the charging contacts triggers a protection trip on the shaver PCB — the device reads it as a fault condition and shuts the charging circuit. The cell itself is not the problem. Dry the charging port thoroughly with a dry cloth, then leave the shaver in a warm room for at least two hours before docking again. If the charge indicator still does not respond, check the dock contacts with a dry cotton swab for any residue from soap or cleaning products.

The shaver feels warm and the motor audibly slows partway through a shave — is this a battery issue or a motor issue?

In a compact shaver housing, heat builds from both the motor and the discharging cell simultaneously — this is normal under extended use, but a degraded cell amplifies it. As the cell voltage sags under load, the motor draws higher current to compensate, which generates more heat and accelerates the voltage drop further. A fresh cell at full 1800mAh capacity sustains voltage above 1.0V for longer, which keeps motor current draw stable. Fit the replacement cell and check that the motor speed stays consistent from the start of a shave to the end.
