Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips HQ6675 / HQ6676 / HQ6695 — 1.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (422203613480)
This is a 1.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Philips HQ6675, HQ6676, HQ6695, and HQG265 cordless rotary shavers. It slots directly into the shaver housing and powers the rotary cutting motor. Capacity is rated at 2.4Wh, matching the original cell specification.
- HQ6675 / HQ6676 / HQ6695 / HQG265 series fit: These models share the same motor voltage rail, cell footprint (50.00 × 14.80 × 14.50mm), and BMS handshake requirements — one cell swap covers the full range without connector modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and load discharge on the HQ6675 motor circuit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the motor held consistent speed through the discharge curve until the protection cutoff triggered at the correct threshold.
- Charging port drying before reconnect: If you rinse this shaver under water, dry the charging port completely before docking it. Moisture bridging the charging contacts triggers a BMS protection fault — the device then reports a dead battery rather than a charging error, which sends most people down the wrong repair path.
Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the HQ6675
Ni-MH cells in shavers are particularly vulnerable to shallow-cycle degradation. Plugging the HQ6675 in every morning before the cell is depleted compresses the usable capacity window over time. The battery chemistry depends on full discharge cycles to maintain calibration between the cell's actual state of charge and what the indicator reports. After several months of daily top-ups, the indicator can show full charge while the cell delivers noticeably less output under motor load.
Motor speed dropping before the low-battery indicator lights up
This is a voltage sag issue, not a calibration error. As the Ni-MH cell ages, internal resistance rises — under the rotary motor's load, voltage drops faster than the indicator circuit tracks. The indicator monitors resting voltage, not load voltage, so it lags behind the real discharge state. The fix is a full replacement cell; once internal resistance crosses roughly 200mΩ on a 1.2V Ni-MH cell this size, no reconditioning cycle recovers usable motor performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
My HQ6675 shaver cuts out mid-shave but the battery indicator still shows charge — what's going on?
This is voltage sag under motor load. The rotary motor draws a short current spike as it works through thicker growth, and an aged Ni-MH cell can't hold voltage through that spike even if the resting charge looks fine. The indicator reads resting voltage between load events, so it always lags the real state of the cell. Replace the cell — once sag is causing mid-shave cutoff, the internal resistance is too high to recover with cycling.
After rinsing my shaver, it went into the dock and now won't charge at all — is the battery dead?
Probably not the battery. Water left in the charging port bridges the contacts and trips the BMS into protection mode, which the shaver reports as a battery fault rather than a charging error. Remove the shaver from the dock, shake out any visible moisture, and leave the port facing down for at least two hours before reconnecting. If it still won't charge after the port is fully dry, check the dock contacts for corrosion — a cotton bud with isopropyl alcohol clears oxidation from cleaning product residue in about 30 seconds.
The dock contacts on my HQ6695 look dull and slightly green — will that stop the battery charging?
Yes. Oxidised dock contacts add resistance to the charging circuit, and the shaver's BMS can interpret the resulting voltage drop as a fault rather than a low charge state. The greenish residue is typically copper oxide from exposure to soap or cleaning spray over time. Wipe the contacts on both the dock and the shaver base with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud, let them dry for two minutes, then re-seat the shaver — the charging indicator should respond within 30 seconds of good contact.
