Fits FitBit Charge HR activity tracker, replaces OEM part LSSP031420AB.
3.7V 70mAh lithium-polymer cell powers display, heart rate sensor, and fitness tracking functions continuously.
Connector seats into proprietary FitBit charging port; magnetic alignment is critical during reassembly.
We bench-tested the BMS on FitBit's fuel gauge IC; cell accepted charge handshake without fault codes.
After installation, place the watch on its charger and charge to 100% — the fuel gauge cannot calibrate without a full cycle from near-zero after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

FitBit Charge HR — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LSSP031420AB)

This is a 3.7V 70mAh lithium-polymer cell that replaces the original LSSP031420AB battery in the FitBit Charge HR activity tracker. It powers the display, continuous heart rate monitor, and all fitness tracking functions. Dimensions are 19.50 × 13.60 × 3.30mm — measure your existing cell before fitting if you are unsure.

  • Charge HR cell format: The Charge HR uses a flat pouch-style Li-Polymer cell rather than a cylindrical cell. The compact PCM on this unit manages charge cutoff at 4.2V and discharge cutoff near 3.0V — the same thresholds the original cell ran. No modification to the flex connector is needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on Charge HR units. The PCM communicated correctly with the watch's fuel gauge IC, and the display reported charge state accurately after a full initial charge cycle.
  • First charge after cell swap: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before wearing it. The fuel gauge IC loses its reference point when the cell is disconnected — it cannot recalibrate correctly without a full charge cycle from near-zero after a swap.

Charge contacts not connecting on the magnetic charger after reassembly

The Charge HR charges through a proprietary magnetic clip that aligns to four contacts on the underside of the band. If the internal assembly shifts slightly during the cell swap, the contact pads can sit 0.5–1mm out of position. The charger will attach magnetically but pass no current — the watch shows no charging indicator. Re-open the case, check that the flex PCB sits flush against the rear housing, and press the clip firmly to both contacts before closing. Confirm charging has started by watching for the battery icon within 30 seconds of connecting.

Watch not pairing to the FitBit app after battery replacement

Removing the battery clears the active BLE session between the Charge HR and the phone. The watch re-initialises its Bluetooth stack on first power-up, but the phone still holds the old pairing record — that mismatch blocks reconnection. On the phone, go to Bluetooth settings and forget the Charge HR device entirely, then remove it from the FitBit app under Account > your tracker > Remove. Re-add the tracker through the app's setup flow as though it were new, and the pairing will complete at the current firmware version.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Charge HR shows 0% and won't turn on right after I put the new battery in — did I get a dead cell?

Almost certainly not — this is a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a dead cell. When the original battery is disconnected, the IC loses its charge reference entirely and reports zero until it runs a full cycle. Place the watch straight onto its magnetic charger and leave it until the display shows 100%. The percentage reading will stabilise correctly after that first complete charge.

The new battery is draining in roughly a day — the old one used to last several days even when it was worn out.

Continuous heart rate monitoring and always-on display together draw significantly more current on a fresh cell than most users expect, because the HR sensor runs at higher sampling intervals when it detects a full charge state. Check the FitBit app and turn off all-day heart rate sync if you do not need it — switching to on-demand HR monitoring will reduce current draw substantially. Also confirm auto-sleep tracking is not set to continuous mode. After the first week the drain pattern usually settles as the fuel gauge IC refines its model of the new cell's impedance.

The heart rate sensor keeps losing its reading and the app shows gaps in HR data since I replaced the battery — is the sensor damaged?

The HR sensor itself is not battery-dependent for function, but its current draw on a new cell with fresh impedance can cause the PCM to briefly throttle power during high optical sampling bursts. We saw this during bench testing — it typically resolves within five to seven full charge cycles as the cell's internal resistance stabilises. If gaps persist beyond that point, check that the watch sits snug against the wrist with the sensor making firm contact, as a loose fit mimics the same symptom in logged data.
