Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TomTom Spark 3 / Spark Cardio 2 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SP322826PA)
This is a 3.7V, 150mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original SP322826PA battery in the TomTom Spark 3, Spark Cardio 2, and Spark 3 GPS watches. It fits directly into the same 28.35 × 28.40 × 3.70mm cavity as the factory cell. Voltage and protection circuit pinout match the original spec.
- Spark 3 and Spark Cardio 2 compatibility: Both models share the same chassis dimensions, connector orientation, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why one cell covers all three variants. The protection circuit on this cell responds to the same charge termination signal the watch sends at 4.2V.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Spark 3 platform and confirmed the BMS accepted charge, terminated correctly at 4.2V, and did not trip on GPS acquisition current draw. The fuel gauge IC re-initialised after a full charge cycle from near-zero.
- Post-swap charging requirement: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before turning it on. The Spark 3 fuel gauge IC loses its voltage reference during a cell swap and cannot report accurate capacity until it completes one full charge cycle from near-zero.
Why the Spark 3 GPS and continuous heart rate monitoring drain a new cell faster in the first week
A new Li-Polymer cell has a slightly different internal impedance compared to the aged cell it replaces. The Spark 3's optical heart rate sensor and GPS radio adjust their drive current based on signal return strength — on a new cell, that process can take several charge cycles to settle. You may notice the battery percentage dropping faster than expected during the first three to five days. This is not a fault with the cell; it normalises once the firmware's power management routine adapts to the new impedance profile.
Watch not pairing to phone after battery replacement
Removing the battery clears the active Bluetooth Low Energy session stored in the watch's volatile memory. The phone still shows the watch as a saved device, but the watch no longer recognises the session token. Go into your phone's Bluetooth settings, forget the TomTom Spark 3 device entirely, then re-pair it from scratch through the MySports app. Do not attempt to pair while the battery is below 20% — the BLE radio on this platform can drop the pairing handshake under low-voltage conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Spark 3 shows 0% and won't turn on after I fitted the new battery — is the cell dead?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The Spark 3 fuel gauge IC loses its voltage reference point when the original battery is removed, so it reads 0% on a new cell until it completes a calibration cycle. Place the watch on its magnetic charger without turning it on and leave it until the watch shows 100%. After that first full charge from near-zero, the gauge re-initialises and the watch will power on and report correctly.
The new battery is draining from full to empty in a single day — the old one used to last several days even when it was degraded.
Always-on heart rate monitoring combined with GPS activity tracking pulls continuous current that adds up fast. Check whether the Spark 3's continuous wrist heart rate setting is active — that sensor alone runs at a steady draw the original aged cell had adapted to, but a new cell exposes the true load. Turn off continuous HR monitoring when not training and confirm GPS is set to Smart rather than Always On in the MySports app settings. After two or three charge cycles the fuel gauge will calibrate and you will get an accurate picture of real-world capacity.
The magnetic charger doesn't seem to be charging — the watch shows no charging indicator after the battery swap.
This is almost always a contact alignment issue from reassembly. The magnetic charger pads on the Spark 3 are small and the back cover can shift by a millimetre during reseating, which is enough to break the circuit. Remove the charger, wipe both the charger contacts and the watch charging points with a dry cloth to clear any fingerprint residue, then re-seat the charger and press it gently against the watch back. Confirm the charging indicator appears within 10 seconds — if it does not, the back cover needs to be reseated flush before charging will resume.
