Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

FitBit Versa 4 — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LSS282024P)
This is a 3.87V, 160mAh lithium-polymer cell that fits the FitBit Versa 4 smartwatch. It replaces part number LSS282024P when the original cell has degraded through repeated charge cycles. The battery measures 24.20 × 20.00 × 2.60mm and connects to the Versa 4's flex PCB via the original ribbon connector.
- Versa 4 cell fitment: The Versa 4 uses a compact Li-Polymer pouch cell at 3.87V nominal — a slightly elevated nominal versus standard 3.7V cells. The BMS on this platform expects that voltage profile. Substituting a mismatched cell voltage causes the fuel gauge IC to report incorrect state-of-charge from the first cycle.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Versa 4's charge controller and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge profile without triggering an over-voltage cutoff. The fuel gauge re-initialised correctly after a full charge-from-near-zero sequence post-swap.
- Post-swap charge requirement: After fitting this cell, place the Versa 4 on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before using the watch. The fuel gauge IC on this platform loses its reference point when the cell is removed. Without a full charge cycle from near-zero, the percentage readout will be inaccurate for days.
Why the Versa 4 fuel gauge shows wrong percentages after a cell swap
The Versa 4 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge in and out relative to a stored full-charge reference. Removing the battery clears that reference from volatile memory. When a new cell is fitted, the IC has no baseline, so it estimates state-of-charge from open-circuit voltage alone — which is unreliable mid-cycle. Running a complete charge to 100% from a low state lets the IC set a new full-charge reference and restore accurate readings within one or two cycles.
Versa 4 not pairing to phone after battery replacement
Removing the battery terminates the active BLE session between the Versa 4 and the paired phone. The watch does not automatically re-establish that bond on power-up — the phone's Bluetooth stack still holds the old session key, and the two devices talk past each other. On the phone, go to Bluetooth settings, forget the Versa 4 device entry, then re-pair through the Fitbit app as if setting up for the first time. The watch itself needs no reset; removing the stale bond on the phone side is enough.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Versa 4 shows 0% and won't turn on right after I put the new battery in — did I get a dead cell?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The Versa 4's fuel gauge IC loses its charge reference the moment the original battery is disconnected, and with no reference point it defaults to 0% on a new cell. Place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately after fitting the replacement and leave it until it reads 100%. The gauge will recalibrate during that first full charge and the watch will power on normally.
My new battery is draining from full to empty in a single day — the old one used to last several days.
A one-day drain on the Versa 4 is almost always caused by always-on display mode combined with continuous heart rate monitoring running simultaneously. Both were likely disabled at some point on the degraded original cell to compensate for its reduced capacity, and they may have re-enabled after the swap or a firmware reset. Go to Settings → Display and toggle always-on off, then check Health & Fitness settings to set heart rate monitoring to auto rather than continuous. Check the drain rate again over 48 hours before drawing any conclusions about the cell.
The magnetic charger is sitting on the watch but the charging icon never appears after reassembly.
The Versa 4's charge contacts sit on the rear case and must align precisely with the magnetic puck's pins. During reassembly, slight pressure on the back panel can shift the internal contact pad a fraction of a millimetre — enough to break the circuit. Remove the charger, press firmly around the edges of the rear case to seat the back panel fully, then reattach the charger. If the icon still does not appear, clean the four contact points on both the watch and the charger with a dry cloth and re-check alignment.
