Fits Golf Buddy WTX and WTX+ GPS smartwatch, replaces OEM part AEE582525.
Supplies 3.7V and 300mAh capacity to restore GPS navigation, scorecard tracking, and distance measurement functions during rounds.
Connector slides into the vertical slot with locking tab engagement; verify orientation before closing the watch case.
We bench-tested the cell on a Golf Buddy charger platform; BMS accepted the handshake on first insertion without fault cycling.
After fitting the new cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use—the fuel gauge IC cannot calibrate without a full charge cycle from near-zero after a cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Golf Buddy WTX / WTX+ — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AEE582525)

This 3.7V, 300mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original AEE582525 battery inside the Golf Buddy WTX and WTX+ GPS golf smartwatch. It restores full function to the GPS navigation, distance measurement, and scorecard tracking features the watch depends on during a round. Capacity figure is 300mAh (1.11Wh) — exactly as specified for this platform.

  • WTX and WTX+ compatibility: Both watches share the same battery bay dimensions (27.00 × 24.60 × 5.00mm), the same AEE582525 part number, and the same 3.7V supply rail to the GPS module and display controller — so one cell covers both models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the WTX platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without error flags, and the fuel gauge IC re-registered state-of-charge correctly after one complete charge cycle.
  • Post-swap charge routine for the WTX fuel gauge: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its charger immediately and run it to 100% before use. The fuel gauge IC on the WTX loses its charge reference when the old cell is removed — it cannot calibrate the new cell's capacity without one full charge from near-zero.

Why GPS use drains the WTX battery faster than display-only mode

The WTX GPS module pulls significantly more current than the display or Bluetooth stack alone. During active course tracking, the chipset acquires satellite fix continuously rather than polling at intervals, which keeps the draw elevated for the entire round. A 300mAh cell at 3.7V gives 1.11Wh of usable energy — that budget is shared between GPS, the display backlight, and BLE sync. Turning off the backlight and disabling auto-sync during a round preserves the cell's charge for the GPS functions that matter most on the course.

Watch not pairing to the Golf Buddy app after battery swap

Removing the battery kills the BLE session entirely — the watch loses its bonding key from active memory. The Golf Buddy app on the phone still holds the old pairing record, which blocks a clean reconnect. Go to the phone's Bluetooth settings, forget the WTX device, then re-initiate pairing from the watch's connection menu. Once paired fresh, the app will re-sync course data and the watch should hold the bond through normal power cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Golf Buddy WTX shows 0% and won't turn on right after I fitted the new battery — did I get a dead cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The WTX fuel gauge IC loses its charge reference the moment the old battery is disconnected, so it reads the new cell as empty or fails to register it at all. Put the watch straight on its charger and leave it until the display shows 100% — one full charge from near-zero resets the gauge. After that cycle, the percentage reading will track normally.

Battery on my WTX is draining completely within a single day — GPS was never this bad before.

On a fresh cell swap, the WTX GPS module and the fuel gauge IC are both recalibrating against new internal impedance, which can cause higher-than-normal draw for the first few cycles. Check that continuous GPS tracking is not running in the background after a round ends — the WTX does not always terminate the satellite session automatically if the app is left open. End the round explicitly in the app, then check that GPS shows idle in the watch settings before charging.

The magnetic charger isn't making contact properly since I reassembled the WTX — the charge indicator never lights up.

The charge contacts on the WTX sit on a small flex assembly that shifts easily if the rear cover is reseated without aligning the internal frame first. Open the case, press the flex assembly flat against its seating points, and reseat the rear cover with even pressure around the full perimeter before locking it down. Once the cover is fully flush, place the watch on the magnetic charger — you should see the charging indicator appear within 10 seconds and voltage at the contacts should read approximately 4.2V at full charge.
