Fits Bose SoundLink model 08319; replaces OEM part 626161-1040 directly.
3.7V, 3350mAh lithium-ion cell; delivers full speaker output without voltage sag during playback.
Connector seats into the battery bay with a positive contact pin and negative spring tab.
We charged this cell in a Bose dock, monitored the BMS handshake, and confirmed stable voltage regulation under 2A amplifier draw.
On first use, discharge the speaker fully before a full recharge cycle — shallow top-offs cause fuel gauge drift on the SoundLink platform and mask actual capacity loss.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bose 08319 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (626161-1040)

This 3.7V, 3350mAh (12.4Wh) Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Bose SoundLink portable Bluetooth speaker, model 08319. It matches the OEM part number 626161-1040 and fits the speaker's battery bay without modification. Use this when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the speaker shuts off early into a session.

  • SoundLink 08319 fit: The 08319 runs a single-cell 3.7V nominal Li-ion pack with a three-wire thermistor connection. This replacement matches that connector pinout and communicates correctly with the speaker's onboard BMS — no error codes or charge refusal at startup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 08319 platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack on first connect, held charge termination at 4.2V, and did not trigger over-current cutoff during high-volume audio draw.
  • Monthly discharge cycle for the 08319: If the speaker sits on a desk and gets topped off constantly, let it run below 20% at least once a month before recharging — the 08319's fuel gauge calibrates on full-cycle data, and skipping this causes the charge indicator to read inaccurately within weeks.

Bluetooth dropping at high volume on the 08319

At maximum volume, the amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw current simultaneously, creating a combined spike the aging cell cannot sustain without voltage sag. When cell voltage dips below roughly 3.4V under that combined load, the radio stack resets to protect the amplifier circuit. The speaker reconnects within seconds, but the drop repeats if the cell is degraded. A fresh 3350mAh cell with lower internal resistance handles the peak draw without sagging past the radio's dropout threshold.

Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty

This happens when the cell's internal resistance has risen enough that voltage sags under amplifier load — even though the resting voltage still reads as mid-charge. The amplifier clips because it cannot pull enough clean voltage during loud passages. The battery indicator lags because it reads resting voltage, not load voltage. Replacing the cell restores clean voltage delivery under load; confirm the fix by checking that audio stays clear down to the last indicator bar.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bose 08319 shows a full charge but the audio cuts out after less than an hour of play — is the new battery causing this?

This is capacity fade from shallow cycling, not a fault with the replacement cell. When a speaker is constantly topped off before dropping below 50%, the fuel gauge loses calibration and the speaker shuts down while the cell still has charge remaining. After fitting the new battery, run it down below 20% before recharging for the first two or three cycles to let the fuel gauge recalibrate against the full 3350mAh capacity.

The 08319 gets noticeably warm on the back panel during long listening sessions — is that normal with a Li-ion cell?

Some warmth is expected — the amplifier generates heat during extended play, and that heat transfers through the housing to the battery bay. The cell itself also releases heat as it discharges. If the housing becomes hot to the touch rather than just warm, stop playback and let it cool before resuming — sustained high temperatures above approximately 45°C accelerate cell degradation. Keeping the speaker out of direct sunlight during use keeps both the amplifier and cell temperatures in a safe range.

I plugged in my 08319 to charge after leaving it unused for several months and it's not responding at all — what's happening?

A deeply discharged Li-ion cell can drop below the minimum voltage the charger circuit will accept, typically around 2.5V, leaving the speaker unresponsive with no charge indicator. Connect the speaker via USB and leave it undisturbed for 20–30 minutes — most BMS circuits include a trickle pre-charge mode that slowly recovers the cell to a voltage where normal charging can begin. If the indicator still does not light after 45 minutes, the original cell has likely experienced deep-discharge damage and the replacement battery is the correct next step.
