Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Harman/Kardon Omni 50+ — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GSP0850110)
This 7.4V, 5000mAh (37Wh) lithium-polymer pack replaces the original GSP0850110 battery in the Harman/Kardon Omni 50+ wireless speaker. It fits the Omni 50 Plus and restores cordless audio playback when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge. Cell dimensions are 108.20 x 51.00 x 17.35mm — confirm these against your pack before ordering.
- Omni 50+ platform fit: The Omni 50 and Omni 50 Plus share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake logic. Both models draw from the same 7.4V rail to feed the amplifier board and Bluetooth radio simultaneously. Either model accepts this cell without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles on the Omni 50+ and confirmed the onboard BMS accepted the cell without fault flags. Protection circuits tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff, and the fuel gauge reported capacity accurately after two full cycles.
- Monthly discharge routine for the Omni 50+: Let the speaker run down below 20% at least once a month before recharging. The Omni 50+ is commonly left on a desk and topped off constantly — this shallow-cycling pattern causes fuel gauge drift and accelerates cell degradation faster than periodic full discharges do.
Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty
As a lithium-polymer cell ages, its internal resistance climbs. When the amplifier pulls a high current burst — loud bass transients or maximum volume — the pack voltage sags below what the amp needs to operate cleanly. The speaker clips the audio signal before the battery indicator shows critical. This is voltage sag under load, not a capacity problem. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag, and clean audio returns at full volume. Charge the replacement fully before the first long session, then confirm the battery indicator stabilises above 3.7V per cell under load.
Omni 50+ warm to the touch after an hour of playback
The Omni 50+ houses the amplifier board and battery pack inside a fabric-wrapped enclosure with limited airflow. During extended playback, amplifier heat and battery discharge heat accumulate together. A degraded cell with high internal resistance generates more heat under the same current draw, making the housing noticeably warmer than normal. A fresh pack with low internal resistance reduces the battery's heat contribution. If the speaker still runs hot with a new cell, check that the fabric grille is not blocked during use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Omni 50+ shows a full charge on the indicator but the audio cuts out after about an hour — is the battery the cause?
Yes, this is classic fuel gauge drift from shallow cycling. The battery indicator reads the cell voltage, not actual remaining capacity — after months of constant top-off charging without full discharges, the two fall out of sync. The cell is genuinely depleted while the indicator still shows bars. Replace the pack and run it below 20% at least once a month to keep the fuel gauge calibrated.
Bluetooth keeps dropping on the Omni 50+ when the volume is high, but reconnects when I turn it down — what's happening?
The amplifier and Bluetooth radio both pull from the same 7.4V battery rail. At high volume, the amplifier current spike combines with the radio's draw and causes the pack voltage to sag. If the cell's internal resistance is high — common in aged Li-Polymer packs — that sag is enough to destabilise the Bluetooth radio and trigger a dropout. A fresh cell with low internal resistance handles the combined load without the voltage dip. Install the replacement, charge it fully, then retest at maximum volume.
The Omni 50+ won't respond when I plug in USB to charge after it went completely flat — how do I recover it?
When a Li-Polymer cell discharges below roughly 2.5V per cell, the battery BMS locks out charging as a safety measure and the USB circuit can't negotiate power delivery. Most chargers see this as no load and stop pushing current. Use a charger that supports a trickle or pre-charge mode — some wall adapters will slowly bring the cell back above the BMS acceptance threshold over 15–30 minutes. If the pack still shows no response after 30 minutes on a trickle-capable charger, the cell is too far gone to recover safely and needs replacement.
