Fits Philips BT6600 and BT6600B speakers; replaces OEM part number AHB7030120.
3.7V, 5800mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers full charge capacity for extended wireless playback without mid-session audio dropout.
Connector seats flush into the speaker's battery slot with positive and negative terminals aligned; locking tab engages on insertion.
We bench-tested the BMS on a full charge cycle — no early cutoff, voltage held steady under 2A speaker load, no thermal runaway.
On first charge after replacement, let the speaker run at 50% volume for two full discharge cycles before returning to max volume operation.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips BT6600 / BT6600B — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AHB7030120)

This is a 3.7V, 5800mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Philips BT6600 and BT6600B portable Bluetooth speakers. It replaces OEM part AHB7030120 (also listed as 996580007202). Fit this battery when the original no longer holds charge or the speaker shuts off before the indicator reads empty.

  • BT6600 and BT6600B compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and fuel gauge circuit. The BMS communicates with the speaker's charge controller over the same three-wire interface, so the voltage rails and cutoff thresholds carry over without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the BT6600 platform and confirmed the BMS handshake initialised correctly on first charge. The protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff, and the fuel gauge reported capacity accurately after two full cycles.
  • Monthly discharge cycle for the BT6600: This speaker is often left on a desk connected to USB. Constant top-off charging without a full discharge causes fuel gauge drift on the Li-Polymer cell. Let the battery drop below 20% at least once a month before recharging to keep the gauge calibrated and slow capacity fade.

Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty on the BT6600

The BT6600 amplifier draws a sharp current spike at high volume. As the Li-Polymer cell ages and internal resistance climbs, that spike causes a voltage sag across the cell. The amplifier receives less voltage than it needs and clips the signal before the battery gauge registers low. Fitting a fresh cell with lower internal resistance removes the sag and restores clean audio output at full volume.

BT6600 not charging after the battery fully discharged during storage

Li-Polymer cells left discharged for weeks can drop below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V per cell. At that point the charge controller refuses to initiate a charge cycle and the LED shows no activity. Some chargers include a trickle pre-charge mode that can recover the cell slowly; connect the speaker to a 5V USB-A source rather than a USB-C PD charger and leave it for 30 minutes to allow the controller to bring the cell back above the acceptance threshold before switching to full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BT6600 shows full charge on the indicator but the audio cuts out after about an hour of play — is this the battery?

Yes. This is a classic symptom of capacity fade from shallow cycling — the speaker was regularly topped off before dropping below 50%, which causes the fuel gauge to lose calibration over time. The indicator shows "full" but the usable capacity has dropped significantly. Fit a replacement cell and run two full discharge-and-recharge cycles to let the fuel gauge recalibrate before trusting the indicator.

Bluetooth keeps dropping when I push the BT6600 to high volume, but the connection stays solid at lower levels — what's causing that?

At high volume the amplifier and the Bluetooth radio are both drawing current simultaneously, and that combined load causes the ageing cell to sag in voltage. The radio drops first because it operates on a tighter voltage window than the amplifier. This isn't a pairing issue — check the battery voltage under load; if it sags below 3.4V at high volume, the cell needs replacing.

The BT6600 feels noticeably warm on the bottom during long play sessions — is that normal or a sign the battery is failing?

Some warmth is expected — the amplifier generates heat that transfers through the housing, and a discharging Li-Polymer cell adds to that. What's not normal is sustained heat that makes the casing uncomfortable to touch. That points to elevated internal resistance in the cell, which converts more energy to heat instead of power. Replace the battery if the warmth is pronounced; also ensure the speaker isn't placed on a soft surface like a sofa that blocks the passive vents.
