Replaces Bose part number 789175, 789175-0010, and 078592 for the S1 Pro portable speaker system.
14.4V 6800mAh chemistry delivers full amplifier output without voltage sag during sustained playback on this compact PA system.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with a single locking tab that clicks audibly when seated — orientation is keyed.
We ran a full charge cycle on the S1 Pro; the BMS registered cell voltage steady at 16.8V peak, no early cutoff observed.
On the S1 Pro, discharge the pack below 20% capacity at least once monthly before recharging — constant top-offs cause fuel gauge drift and accelerate fade on the Li-ion cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bose S1 Pro Multi-Position PA System — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (789175)

This 14.4V 6800mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 789175 in the Bose S1 Pro, S1 Pro System, and S1 Pro Multi-Position PA System. It restores full portable operation when the original cell can no longer hold a usable charge. At 97.92Wh, it matches the energy capacity the S1 Pro amplifier expects from a healthy pack.

  • S1 Pro platform fit: All three S1 Pro variants — S1 Pro, S1 Pro System, and S1 Pro Multi-Position PA System — share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One battery fits all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the S1 Pro. The BMS handshook correctly, the fuel gauge reported accurately from 100% down to the low-battery cutoff, and the amplifier showed no mid-cycle shutdown.
  • Monthly discharge cycle on the S1 Pro: If the S1 Pro sits on a desk and gets topped off constantly before dropping below 50%, the fuel gauge drifts and capacity fades faster than normal cycling. Let the pack run below 20% at least once a month before recharging to keep the cell calibration accurate.

Audio distorting before the S1 Pro battery indicator reaches empty

When the pack is aged or a replacement cell has higher internal resistance than the original, voltage sags under the combined amplifier and radio draw before the battery gauge triggers the low-battery warning. The amplifier hits its minimum rail voltage and clips the signal first. This produces audible distortion — usually at higher volumes — while the indicator still shows one or two bars. Check resting voltage at that point: if it reads below 13.5V under load, the cell is sagging too hard and needs replacement.

S1 Pro showing full charge bars but audio drops out after extended play

This is fuel gauge drift — common in packs that have been shallow-cycled for months without a full discharge. The cell's actual state of charge diverges from what the BMS reports, so the indicator reads full while the usable capacity is significantly lower. A full discharge to the S1 Pro's automatic cutoff, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, forces the BMS to recalibrate its charge estimation. If the symptom persists after two full cycles, the cell has degraded past recovery and replacement is the correct fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

My S1 Pro Bluetooth cuts out when I push the volume past halfway — is this a battery problem?

Yes, it can be. The S1 Pro amplifier and Bluetooth radio both draw from the same battery pack, and at high volume the combined current spike causes voltage sag on a weak or degraded cell. When pack voltage drops below the radio's minimum operating threshold mid-transmission, the Bluetooth connection drops even though the speaker keeps playing. Test resting voltage on the pack: a healthy 14.4V Li-ion cell should hold above 14.0V under full-volume load.

The S1 Pro USB-A output stopped working and the speaker won't respond to the power button after it ran fully flat — how do I recover it?

When the cell discharges below the BMS's minimum acceptance voltage — which can happen if the S1 Pro is stored without use for several months — the protection circuit locks the pack out and the speaker appears completely dead. Plug the S1 Pro into mains power via its DC input and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes without pressing any buttons; this allows the charger to trickle current into the cell past the BMS lockout threshold. Once the charge LED activates, the pack is recovering and normal charging will resume from that point.

The S1 Pro feels noticeably warm through the mesh during long outdoor sets — is the battery overheating?

The S1 Pro generates heat from two sources simultaneously: the Class D amplifier running at sustained output and the Li-ion cell discharging under continuous draw. Both are enclosed in a compact fabric-covered housing with limited airflow, so surface warmth during extended play is expected. What to watch for is heat concentrated at the bottom battery compartment rather than spread evenly across the cabinet — that localised warmth indicates the cell is working harder than it should, often a sign of elevated internal resistance. If the speaker triggers a thermal shutdown mid-set, let it cool for 15 minutes with the battery compartment facing upward and away from direct sun before restarting.
