Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pliant MicroCom XR Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (031-450-3048)
This 3.7V, 900mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the OEM cell in the Pliant MicroCom XR and MicroCom XR900 all-in-one headset. It slots into the same footprint as the original at 53.20 × 34.00 × 6.20mm. If your unit cuts out early or won't hold a charge, this is the cell to swap.
- MicroCom XR and XR900 compatibility: Both the MicroCom XR and XR900 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal rail — one cell fits both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the MicroCom XR platform. The BMS accepted full charge without fault flags and held voltage steady through audio playback draw at the amplifier rail.
- Monthly discharge cycle for MicroCom XR users: Let the battery run below 20% at least once a month before plugging in. The MicroCom XR spends most of its life topped off on a desk charger — constant shallow cycling causes fuel gauge drift, so the indicator reads full while actual capacity has quietly dropped.
Audio distortion before the battery indicator reaches empty on the MicroCom XR
As a Li-Polymer cell ages, its internal resistance rises. Under the combined draw of the amplifier and Bluetooth radio, voltage sags faster than the fuel gauge tracks. The amplifier rail drops below the threshold needed to drive clean output, and you hear clipping or crackle while the indicator still shows charge remaining. Swapping in a fresh 900mAh cell with lower internal resistance restores clean headroom to the amp rail.
MicroCom XR won't wake from USB after sitting discharged
If the unit sits unused for several weeks with no charge, the cell can drop below the USB charge controller's minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V for Li-Polymer. At that point the controller sees an out-of-range cell and refuses to start a charge cycle. Connect to a USB port and hold the power button for 10–15 seconds to trigger a low-current pre-charge handshake. If the device still shows no charging activity after two minutes, the cell has likely dropped below recovery threshold and replacement is the correct fix.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Pliant MicroCom XR shows a full battery but audio cuts out after a short time — what's happening?
This is fuel gauge drift from constant shallow cycling. The MicroCom XR's fuel gauge calibrates against a full discharge cycle, and if the unit is always topped off before it drops below 50%, the gauge loses accuracy and reports full while the actual cell capacity has degraded significantly. A new 900mAh cell restores true capacity, but run it below 20% at least once a month to keep the gauge accurate.
Bluetooth drops out or stutters at high volume on the MicroCom XR even with a charged battery — is the battery causing this?
Yes, this is a voltage sag issue. At high volume, the amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw peak current simultaneously, and an aged or degraded cell can't sustain the voltage rail under that combined load. The radio drops its link before the battery indicator shows any problem. A fresh 900mAh cell with low internal resistance holds the voltage rail steady through high-draw peaks and keeps the Bluetooth connection stable.
The MicroCom XR feels noticeably warm during long listening sessions — is that normal or a sign something is wrong?
Some warmth is expected. The amplifier generates heat during extended playback, and the Li-Polymer cell adds discharge heat in the same compact housing. If the unit becomes hot to the touch rather than just warm, the cell is likely overworking to compensate for capacity loss — internal resistance on a degraded cell converts more energy to heat rather than output. Replace the cell if the housing feels uncomfortably hot during normal volume playback.
