Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Harman/Kardon Citation 200 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (IAA031NA)
This is a 3.7V, 6800mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Harman/Kardon Citation 200 portable wireless speaker. It fits the Citation 200 directly, restoring battery-powered audio and voice control when the original cell has degraded. Capacity is rated at 25.16Wh, matching the stock specification.
- Citation 200 fit: The Citation 200 runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with the IAA031NA part number. The replacement uses the same cell format — 72.00 × 38.50 × 20.90mm — so it seats correctly and connects to the speaker's charge management circuit without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on Citation 200 hardware. The BMS accepted the cell, completed a full charge cycle without fault flags, and the speaker reported accurate state-of-charge across the indicator LEDs throughout discharge.
- Monthly discharge cycle for Citation 200 users: If the speaker sits on a desk and gets plugged in whenever it drops below half, discharge it fully — below 20% — at least once a month before recharging. Constant shallow top-off charging without a full cycle causes fuel gauge drift and accelerates capacity fade on the Li-ion cell.
Audio distorting before the Citation 200 battery indicator reaches empty
As the Li-ion cell discharges toward its lower voltage limit, the amplifier's supply rail sags. The Citation 200's amplifier clips under that reduced voltage before the battery indicator has stepped down to its final segment. This means distortion is a voltage event, not a capacity event — the cell still has charge remaining, but the amp can no longer maintain clean output. If this happens on a new replacement battery, run a full discharge and recharge cycle to recalibrate the fuel gauge to the new cell's actual voltage curve.
USB-C charging not starting after the Citation 200 has been left flat for weeks
A deeply discharged Li-ion cell can drop below the minimum acceptance voltage for USB-C Power Delivery negotiation. When this happens, the speaker shows no charging indicator and the charger sees no valid load. Connect the speaker using the original cable and leave it on charge for 20–30 minutes without interruption — the charge IC uses a low-current preconditioning stage to bring the cell back up to the threshold voltage before switching to normal charge mode. If the indicator still does not appear after 30 minutes, check the cable and port for debris. The cell needs to reach approximately 3.0V before the main charge cycle begins.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Citation 200 shows a full charge but the audio cuts out after about an hour of use — is this a battery problem?
Yes, this is fuel gauge drift caused by shallow cycling. When the speaker is repeatedly topped off before dropping below 50%, the charge controller loses track of the cell's true capacity and reports "full" against a shrunken usable range. Discharge the speaker fully — let it run until it shuts itself off — then charge it in a single uninterrupted session to 100%. Do this two or three times to reset the gauge against the new cell's actual voltage curve.
Bluetooth drops out at high volume even though the battery indicator shows plenty of charge left — what's happening?
At high volume, the amplifier and the Bluetooth radio are both drawing current simultaneously. That combined spike causes the cell voltage to sag momentarily, and the speaker's protection circuit briefly interrupts the radio to protect the amp. It happens mid-charge because sag is worst when the cell's internal resistance is highest — which occurs at both extremes of the charge curve. Keep the speaker between 20% and 80% charge during extended high-volume sessions, where cell impedance is lowest and sag is smallest.
The Citation 200 feels noticeably warm through the fabric housing during long playback — is that normal with a new battery?
Some warmth is expected. The amplifier generates heat during playback, and the Li-ion cell adds a small amount of its own heat as it discharges — both are trapped by the fabric enclosure. What you should not feel is heat concentrated in one spot or a rapid temperature rise in the first 15 minutes of charging. If the housing is hot to the touch rather than warm, stop playback, disconnect the charger, and let the speaker cool to room temperature before investigating the charge cable and USB-C port for damage.
