Fits AdirPro surveying instruments and replaces OEM part number 77GEB242.
14.8V 5800mAh lithium-ion delivers sustained power for probe initialization and extended field measurement sessions.
Connector type and orientation match the original pack; locking tab secures flush against instrument housing.
We bench-tested this cell across three calibration cycles; BMS handled probe current spikes without early cutoff.
After installing, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before field deployment — the instrument maps battery state during calibration, and skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings on the first measurement session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AdirPro 77GEB242 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 14.8V 5800mAh Li-ion pack replaces the OEM 77GEB242 battery used in AdirPro surveying and measurement instruments. It fits the original battery slot and connector. Capacity is 5800mAh (85.84Wh), matched to the original specification.

  • 14.8V four-cell Li-ion platform: AdirPro field instruments in this line run a 14.8V nominal rail — four cells in series. The BMS on this pack uses the same voltage thresholds and termination logic the instrument expects, so the pack communicates correctly through the battery contacts without triggering a voltage-mismatch fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through instrument power-up, sensor initialisation, and sustained logging load. The BMS held steady through the probe power-up current spike and did not trip on the inrush. Cell voltage spread stayed within 30mV across a full discharge cycle.
  • First-use calibration cycle: After installing this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before field deployment. The instrument maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings during the first measurement session, even when the pack is fully charged.

BMS lockout after the instrument sat unused in a carry case for months

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage. If an AdirPro instrument sits unused long enough, the pack voltage drops below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10V on a 14.8V four-cell pack. At that point the BMS enters a protective sleep state and the instrument will not power on at all, even when connected to a charger. The fix is to apply a low-current pre-charge using a compatible charger that supports recovery mode, which nudges cell voltage back above the reactivation threshold. Once the BMS wakes, normal charging resumes. If the pack does not respond after 30 minutes of pre-charge, the cells have likely dropped too far for recovery.

Readings drifting or logging session resetting mid-capture

This is a voltage dropout issue, not a firmware fault. During sustained sensor load — especially when multiple probes or communication modules are active simultaneously — cell voltage sags under the combined draw. If the sag crosses the instrument's low-voltage cutoff threshold, the device resets the active session to protect the measurement processor. The behaviour is more common with aged cells that can no longer hold voltage under load, but it can also appear with a new pack that was not calibrated after installation. Run the instrument's calibration routine first. If dropouts continue, check that the charger fully terminated the last charge — the pack should measure 16.6–16.8V at the terminals when fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions

The instrument powers on fine but shuts itself off the moment I start a USB data transfer to my PC — why?

USB data transfer adds a second simultaneous load on top of the instrument's own processor and sensor circuits. On a 14.8V pack that is not at full charge, this combined draw can pull cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold momentarily, triggering a protective shutdown. This is not a fault with the pack — it is a voltage headroom issue. Fully charge the pack until the charger terminates, confirm terminal voltage reads at least 16.6V, then attempt the transfer again.

My instrument is showing a "battery error" on screen after I installed this new pack — is the pack faulty?

Most battery error flags on AdirPro survey instruments appear when the pack is installed after a long storage period and the BMS has not yet initialised to the instrument's state-of-charge mapping. The instrument throws the error because it cannot confirm a valid charge state from the pack. Power the instrument off, leave the pack seated for two minutes, then power back on. If the error clears, run the instrument's calibration routine before field use. If the error persists after a full charge cycle, check that the battery contacts are clean and making firm contact — oxidised contacts interrupt the data line the instrument uses to read pack status.

The pack charges for only a short time then the charger shows complete — but field performance drops off quickly. What is happening?

This usually means the charger terminated early due to a voltage spike from unevenly balanced cells rather than the pack actually reaching full capacity. A four-cell series pack with cells that have drifted apart in voltage will trip the charger's termination circuit before the lower cells are fully charged. The result is a pack that reads full but is carrying less usable capacity than expected. To confirm, measure terminal voltage immediately after the charger indicates complete — it should read 16.6–16.8V. If it reads below 16.4V, the pack needs a slow top-up charge at a reduced rate or the original charger's conditioning mode if available.
