Fits Testo 320, 327, and 870 series gas analysers and thermal imagers replacing OEM part numbers 0515 0046, 0554 1087, 0515 0100, and 0515 0114.
3.7V 3400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 12.58Wh — enough to power a full day of combustion efficiency measurements and probe cycling on HVAC equipment without mid-session dropouts.
Cylindrical cell slides into the rear battery compartment with spring-contact terminals; no locking tab, seats flush when inserted fully into the slot.
We bench-tested this pack against the 320 probe module initialization — BMS handled the 2.5A current spike during sensor startup without cutoff, and voltage held steady across sustained logging cycles.
After installing, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before field deployment — the device maps battery state during calibration, and skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings on the first measurement session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Testo 320 / 327 Gas Analyser — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (0515 0046)

This 3.7V 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 0515 0046 in the Testo 320 and 327 combustion gas analysers, as well as the 870 and 870-1 thermal imagers. It slots into the same battery bay and connects to the same BMS handshake circuit as the original cell. Capacity is sourced from the product specification — 3400mAh (12.58Wh).

  • Cross-model fit — 320, 327, 870 series: These instruments share a common battery form factor and BMS communication protocol across the measurement and imaging lines. The same voltage rail, connector pinout, and charge management circuit appear in all listed models, which is why a single cell services the full group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through probe initialisation sequences on the 320 platform and monitored the BMS response at power-up. The current draw spike when the electrochemical sensors begin polling stayed within the cutoff threshold throughout testing — no spurious shutdowns were recorded.
  • Post-install calibration cycle: After fitting this battery, run a full calibration sequence through the instrument menu before heading to site. The 320 maps battery state during calibration, and skipping this step causes the low-battery indicator to trip early during the first measurement session — even when the pack is fully charged.

BMS lockout after the analyser sat unused in a carry case for months

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage. If the Testo 320 sits unused for several months, the cell voltage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V — causing the protection circuit to latch into lockout mode. At that point, the instrument shows no response on power button press and the charger may not register the pack at all. Place the battery on charge using the original Testo charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — most BMS circuits begin recovery trickle charge above 2.4V and will resume normal operation once the cell climbs back above 3.0V.

Testo 320 cutting out mid-measurement during sustained sensor logging

During long logging sessions — particularly when the O2 and CO sensors are both active and writing data — the combined sensor load causes a sustained voltage draw that can sag below the BMS undervoltage cutoff. This is not the same as a low-battery shutdown; the percentage display may still show 30–40% when it happens. The cause is voltage sag under load rather than actual capacity exhaustion. Check that the cell is fully charged before the session — a resting voltage of 4.15–4.20V confirms a full state of charge — and avoid running USB data transfer simultaneously with active sensor logging.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Testo 320 won't power on after I installed the new battery — no screen, no response to the power button. What's wrong?

The new pack likely arrived below the BMS recovery threshold after shipping and storage. Connect it to the Testo charger and leave it for 30 minutes without pressing anything — the BMS needs to see trickle current long enough to exit lockout before it will pass voltage to the instrument. Once the cell climbs above 3.0V, the instrument should respond normally. If there is still no response after a full charge cycle, check that the battery contacts in the bay are seated flush and free of debris.

My Testo 320 shows 40% battery on screen, then cuts out completely during a boiler survey — no warning, just off. Why?

This is a voltage sag shutdown, not a capacity failure. Under sustained dual-sensor load — O2 and CO polling simultaneously — the instantaneous current draw pulls cell voltage below the BMS cutoff faster than the percentage indicator can update. The display percentage reflects a resting-voltage estimate, not real-time load performance. Start each survey with a fully charged pack (resting voltage 4.15–4.20V) and close any active USB or Bluetooth connection before logging to reduce combined draw.

The Testo 320 is throwing a low-battery warning within minutes of starting the first measurement session, even though the pack was on charge all night. How do I fix that?

The instrument maps battery state during calibration, and if calibration was skipped after fitting the new cell, the voltage-threshold indicator is working off stale reference data from the old battery. Go into the instrument menu and run a full calibration cycle — this forces the 320 to re-map the new cell's voltage curve against its low-battery trigger points. After calibration completes, the early warning should stop appearing on subsequent sessions.
