Fits Amazon Kindle Fire 7" models with OEM part numbers ST18, ST18C, 58-000177, GB-S10-308594-060L, or MC-308594.
3.7V, 2950mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the same capacity as the original battery for standard tablet operation.
Connector is a two-pin JST-type plug with vertical orientation; no locking tab, slides straight into the battery slot.
We bench-tested the pack on a Fire 7 tablet; the BMS accepted charge immediately with no fault codes or safety shutdowns.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves the inaccurate percentage display that appears after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazon Kindle Fire 7" 7th Generation — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (ST18 / 58-000177)

This 3.7V, 2950mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Amazon Kindle Fire 7" and Kindle Fire 7th Generation 2017 (model SR043KL / B01GEW27DA). It matches the original form factor at 96.95 × 85.15 × 3.00mm and uses OEM part numbers ST18, ST18C, 58-000177, GB-S10-308594-060L, and MC-308594. Direct swap for a degraded or non-charging factory cell.

  • Kindle Fire 7 and 7th Gen 2017 fitment: Both the standard Fire 7 and the 2017 refresh share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake — which is why one cell covers both generations. The fuel gauge IC communicates over the same line; no firmware difference affects compatibility.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a Fire 7 7th Gen unit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge immediately, voltage held stable at 3.7V nominal under display-plus-WiFi load, and no protection cutoff triggered during normal operation.
  • Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting the new cell, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This single full cycle recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that typically appear after a swap.

Kindle Fire 7 shutting down at 15–25% remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is calibrated to an aged cell with a steep voltage drop at the low end. The new cell has a flatter discharge curve, so the gauge misjudges the remaining capacity. When the display backlight and WiFi radio both draw current simultaneously, the combined load causes a voltage dip the BMS reads as a cutoff threshold. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration and eliminates the early shutdown.

Fast charging not available after battery swap

The Kindle Fire 7 uses a proprietary charge negotiation sequence that runs one accepted charge cycle before the charge IC recognises the new cell's parameters. Plugging in after a cold swap often results in standard 5W input rather than the faster rate. Use the original Amazon power adapter — third-party adapters may not complete the negotiation handshake. After one full charge cycle with the Amazon adapter, fast charging resumes at the normal rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Kindle Fire 7 is showing 80% battery but just switched off — why?

The fuel gauge IC calibrated itself to your old, degraded cell and no longer maps accurately to the new cell's discharge curve. Under combined display and WiFi load, a brief voltage sag crosses the BMS cutoff threshold before the percentage gauge catches up. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with the screen off. That single cycle resets the IC and stops the early shutdowns.

The battery percentage on my Fire 7 drops from 100% to 70% within the first few minutes of use — is the new cell faulty?

It is not a faulty cell — it is fuel gauge drift. The on-device gauge is still using the charge profile from the old battery and overcorrects rapidly at the top of the curve before settling. We see this consistently on first use after a swap. Complete one full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the percentage will track correctly from that point forward.

My Kindle Fire 7 gets noticeably warm while charging after replacing the battery — is something wrong?

Warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is normal. The charge IC runs a slightly higher current while it characterises the new cell's internal resistance and adjusts the charge rate. We measured surface temperatures within safe operating limits on the bench during this break-in period. If the tablet stays hot well after charging completes and the display is off, check that the back cover is fully seated and not trapping heat against the battery.
