Fits Asus Zenpad Z8, P008, ZT581KL, and ZenPad 3 8.0 tablets; replaces OEM part numbers C11PP91, M619, C11P1514, and 0B200-01970000.
3.85V Li-Polymer cell with 4550mAh capacity delivers sustained power to the display and processor during extended use without mid-session shutdowns.
Connector seats flush into the battery bay with a single locking tab on the left edge; ensure the tab engages fully before reassembly.
We bench-tested this cell in a Zenpad Z8 under WiFi and display load; the BMS voltage curve remained stable and the fuel gauge IC accepted the handshake on first charge cycle.
After installation, run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage display that appears after a battery swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Zenpad Z8 / ZenPad 3 8.0 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C11PP91)

This is a 3.85V, 4550mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Asus Zenpad Z8, ZenPad 3 8.0, and related variants including the P008 and ZT581KL. It replaces OEM part numbers C11PP91, M619, C11P1514, and 0B200-01970000. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.

  • Zenpad Z8 and ZT581KL platform fit: These models share the same 3.85V power rail, physical footprint, and BMS handshake protocol — 104.20 × 95.80 × 2.70mm cell with matching connector and protection circuit. One battery covers the full variant range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and load cycles on the ZT581KL. The BMS negotiated charge termination correctly at 4.35V and held cutoff at the low-voltage threshold without false trips under display-plus-WiFi combined draw.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff under normal use — no forced discharge needed — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual capacity curve and clears the inaccurate percentage reading that appears after any cell swap.

Zenpad Z8 shutting down at 15–25% remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell. The reported percentage no longer maps to actual cell voltage. Under combined display and WiFi load, real cell voltage drops faster than the gauge tracks, and the BMS triggers a hard cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. One complete discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resyncs the gauge to the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns should align with low-battery warnings at or below 5%.

Fast charging not available after battery replacement

The Zenpad Z8 charge IC uses a USB-PD negotiation handshake that can reset to standard 5V charging after a battery swap. This is a firmware-level behaviour — the charge controller defaults to a safe baseline until it completes one full accepted charge cycle on the new cell. Plug in using the original charger and cable, let it charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging mid-cycle. After that first complete cycle, fast charge negotiation typically resumes on the next plug-in.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Zenpad Z8 shows 80% battery but shuts off immediately under load — why?

The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's degraded voltage curve. When the new cell draws down under screen-plus-WiFi load, actual cell voltage hits the BMS cutoff threshold well before the reported percentage reaches zero. Run the tablet to automatic shutoff under normal use, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that single calibration cycle, the reported percentage should track actual voltage correctly.

Battery percentage on the ZenPad 3 8.0 is jumping around — drops 10% in minutes then stalls for an hour. What's happening?

This is fuel gauge drift — the Android battery stats file still holds charge-curve data from the old cell. The gauge interpolates capacity against a curve that no longer matches the new cell's chemistry profile. A single full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the active calibration against the new cell. If jumpy readings persist after two full cycles, clear battery stats in recovery mode before running another full cycle.

The ZT581KL gets noticeably warm during the first few charges after swapping the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The charge IC runs a conditioning pass on a new cell — it applies a slightly higher charge current during the first few cycles while the cell's internal resistance stabilises. Surface warmth during this phase is expected and drops off after two or three full charge cycles. If the tablet stays hot to the touch after the fourth charge cycle or the case deforms, stop charging and check that the connector is fully seated and there is no flex on the cell.
