Fits Lenovo Tab 4 10 and Tab 4 10.1 tablets; replaces OEM part number L16D2P31.
3.85V, 6800mAh capacity delivers the same power output as the original cell for standard tablet use.
Connector sits flush into the battery slot with no locking tabs; orientation marked on the housing.
We ran a full charge cycle on a TB-X304F unit; BMS accepted the cell without fault codes or thermal events.
After installation, discharge the tablet fully to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC and fixes inaccurate percentage display after the swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo Tab 4 10 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L16D2P31)

This 3.85V, 6800mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces part number L16D2P31 in the Lenovo Tab 4 10 and Tab 4 10.1. It fits TB-X304F and TB-X304F/L variants along with five additional Tab 4 10 configurations. The cell matches original voltage, capacity, and connector spec.

  • Tab 4 10 series compatibility: The TB-X304 family shares a common battery bay dimension, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol across its Wi-Fi, LTE, and regional variants. One cell SKU covers the full lineup because Lenovo held those specs consistent across the run.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell in a TB-X304F and cycled it through charge, standby, and load draw under display-on plus active Wi-Fi conditions. The BMS accepted charge from both a 5V standard adapter and a USB-PD source, and no overcurrent trip events occurred during motor-start or display wake surges.
  • Post-installation calibration on the Tab 4 10: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force it off manually. Then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This single cycle lets the fuel gauge IC measure the new cell's actual capacity curve and eliminates the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a swap.

Tab 4 10 shutting down between 15% and 25% remaining

This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. When the display is on and Wi-Fi is actively transmitting, combined current draw pulls cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold earlier than the reported percentage suggests. A degraded or freshly installed cell that hasn't been calibrated makes this worse because the fuel gauge is mapping the wrong discharge curve. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. If shutdowns persist after two calibration cycles, check that cell voltage at shutoff reads no lower than 3.0V using a USB meter on the charge port.

Fast charging unavailable on the Tab 4 10 after battery replacement

The Tab 4 10 uses USB-PD negotiation to unlock fast charge, and the charge IC sometimes withholds that negotiation until it has completed one accepted standard-rate charge cycle on a new cell. If the tablet is only drawing 5V at low current after a swap, charge it fully once at standard rate with the screen off. After that cycle completes, reconnect using a USB-PD compatible charger and cable — the controller should then negotiate the higher voltage profile. Confirm fast charge is active by checking that the charging indicator in the status bar shows the accelerated icon, or verify input wattage exceeds 10W with a USB power meter.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tab 4 10 shows 80% right after I put in the new battery — is the percentage going to be wrong forever?

The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the reported percentage won't match reality until you recalibrate it. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff under normal use — don't force a shutdown — then charge it uninterrupted to 100% with the screen off. One complete cycle is usually enough for the gauge to remap against the new cell. If the reading still drifts after two cycles, repeat the process with Wi-Fi disabled to eliminate load variance during calibration.

The Tab 4 10 cuts off at around 20% even though I just replaced the battery — what's happening?

Display-on plus active Wi-Fi pulls enough current to drop cell voltage below the BMS cutoff point before the fuel gauge reaches 0%. A new, uncalibrated cell makes this worse because the gauge is predicting shutdown from the wrong baseline. Do one full discharge-to-automatic-shutoff cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100% — this resets the cutoff threshold against the new cell's actual voltage profile. If the tablet still shuts down early after two calibration cycles, check that cell voltage at the point of shutoff is no lower than 3.0V using a USB power meter on the charge port.

The Tab 4 10 gets noticeably warm while charging the new battery — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new Li-Polymer cell is normal — the charge IC is running initial formation passes and the cell's internal resistance is slightly higher before it beds in. The tablet should feel warm, not hot, and warmth should concentrate near the charge port area rather than spreading across the whole back panel. If surface temperature feels genuinely hot or charging stops and restarts repeatedly, disconnect the charger and check that the charge cable and adapter output match the tablet's rated input. After two or three full cycles, warmth during charging typically settles to the same level as the original battery.
