Fits DT Research DT390 tablet, replaces OEM part ACC-006-18 and ACC-006-181.
7.4V, 3600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full processor and display power for tablet operation.
Connector type and orientation match original pack; locking tab seats flush against device chassis.
We bench-tested this cell in the DT390 dock — BMS accepted handshake on first charge cycle.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DT Research DT390 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ACC-006-18)

This is a 7.4V, 3600mAh lithium-ion battery for the DT Research DT390 rugged tablet. It replaces OEM part numbers ACC-006-18 and ACC-006-181. The DT390 is a purpose-built field tablet, and this battery powers its processor, display, and wireless radios.

  • DT390 platform fit: The DT390 uses a fixed 7.4V cell configuration with a BMS handshake tied to the ACC-006-18 part family. This battery matches that voltage rail and connector pinout so the tablet's charge controller accepts the cell without throwing a fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the DT390 platform. The BMS passed authentication, the charge IC engaged without error flags, and cell voltage held stable across a full cycle.
  • Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual capacity and corrects the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a swap.

DT390 shutting down at 15–25% battery remaining

The DT390 draws hard on the battery when the display is at full brightness and the wireless radio is active simultaneously. An aged or uncalibrated cell hits a voltage cliff under that combined load before the reported percentage reaches zero. The tablet's protection circuit reads the voltage drop as critically low and forces a shutdown. Running one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle recalibrates the fuel gauge IC and brings the cutoff point back in line with the actual state of charge.

Fast charging unavailable after battery replacement on the DT390

If the DT390 drops to standard charge rate after a battery swap, the charge IC needs one complete accepted charge cycle before it renegotiates higher-rate charging. This is a handshake behaviour — not a fault with the replacement cell. Plug the tablet into its original charger and let it run from low charge to 100% without interruption. After that first full cycle completes, fast charge availability typically restores on the next connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DT390 shows a different battery percentage every time I restart it — is the new battery faulty?

The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve, not this one. After a battery swap, the reported percentage drifts until the gauge relearns the new cell. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using it mid-cycle. That single full cycle resets the calibration and stabilises the percentage readout.

The DT390 cuts off suddenly at around 20% after I replaced the battery — what's causing it?

Under combined display and wireless load, the DT390 pulls enough current to cause a sharp voltage drop at the cell terminals. If the fuel gauge IC hasn't recalibrated to the new cell yet, it misreads that drop as a critically low state of charge and triggers shutdown well above zero. The fix is one full discharge-to-automatic-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After calibration, the cutoff voltage aligns correctly and the early shutdowns stop.

The DT390 feels warm while charging with the new battery — should I be concerned?

Warmth during the first few charge cycles is normal. The charge IC on the tablet is working through its initial current acceptance phase with the new cell, which generates mild heat. Surface temperature should stay well below 45°C. If the tablet feels hot to the touch or the charge stops before 100%, check that airflow around the device isn't blocked and that you're using the original DT Research charger delivering the correct voltage to the charge port.
