Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toshiba Portege Z10T-A Series — 11.1V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PA5137U-1BRS)
This is an 11.1V, 3300mAh (36.63Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Toshiba Portege Z10T-A convertible tablet. It fits the Z10T-A, Z10T-A-102, Z10T-A-103, Z10T-A-104, and over 50 additional Portege Z10T-A variants. It replaces OEM part number PA5137U-1BRS directly.
- Z10T-A series compatibility: All Z10T-A variants share the same 11.1V Li-Polymer cell configuration, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The charge IC in each model expects the same voltage profile, so one cell revision covers the full production run without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Z10T-A unit. The BMS accepted the pack without error flags, voltage held within spec under combined display and WiFi load, and the charge IC completed a full cycle without thermal cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff under normal use — do not force it. Then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full voltage sweep against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that typically appear in the first few cycles after a swap.
Portege Z10T-A shutting down at 15–25% remaining
The Z10T-A runs an IPS display and maintains active WiFi during normal use. Together, these loads pull enough current to create a sharp voltage sag near the low end of the cell's discharge curve. The BMS interprets this sag as a critically low voltage event and cuts power before the reported percentage reaches zero. This is not a faulty battery — it is the fuel gauge IC working from a calibration map built around the old, degraded cell. One full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets that map and resolves the early cutoff.
Fast charging unavailable after battery replacement on Z10T-A
The Z10T-A uses a proprietary charge negotiation handshake between the charge IC and the battery pack. On a freshly installed cell, the system sometimes defaults to a conservative charge rate until it completes one full accepted charge cycle. If the tablet is showing a slow or standard charge rate after the swap, connect to the original Toshiba charger and let it run one complete cycle without interruption. After that cycle, the charge IC logs the new pack as verified and restores the higher charge rate. Confirm the rate has changed by checking the battery status in the OS — it should no longer display "charging slowly."

Frequently Asked Questions
My Portege Z10T-A is showing 60% battery but just shut off — is the new battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the Z10T-A calibrates its percentage display against the discharge curve of the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC's internal map no longer matches the actual voltage curve, so it misreads remaining capacity and triggers an early cutoff. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff under normal use, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to remap against the new cell and stops the premature shutdown.
The battery percentage on my Z10T-A is jumping around or dropping faster than expected — what causes this?
This is fuel gauge drift. The Z10T-A's charge IC builds its percentage estimate from a stored discharge curve. A replacement cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile than the original, so early readings are inaccurate. The fix is one complete discharge-to-automatic-shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the IC recalculates its curve against the actual cell and percentage readings stabilise. If the jumping continues after two full cycles, check that no background apps are creating irregular load spikes during the calibration run.
The Z10T-A feels warm near the battery area while charging after the swap — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles is normal. The charge IC on a new Li-Polymer cell runs slightly higher current during its initial acceptance phase while it characterises the pack's internal resistance. We measured surface temperature on the bench during this phase and it stayed well within safe operating range. If the device becomes hot to the touch or the OS displays a temperature warning, disconnect the charger and check that the replacement cell is seated flat with no pressure points on the contacts — the target resting charge voltage should read 12.4–12.6V when full.
