Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fuhu Nabi JR / NABIJR-NV5A — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PR-546268)
This 3.7V, 2350mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces part number PR-546268 in the Fuhu Nabi JR children's tablet. It fits the NV5A and NABIJR-NV5A variants. The original cell degrades with repeated shallow cycles, which is common in kid-use devices that spend most of their life between 30% and 80%.
- Nabi JR / NV5A platform fit: The NV5A hardware shares one battery connector layout and a single BMS voltage rail across all Nabi JR variants. PR-546268 is the only cell that matches the physical footprint at 68.02 × 61.34 × 5.40 mm — no adapter or rewiring needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the NABIJR-NV5A board. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes, and the charge IC ramped to full without thermal events.
- Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full voltage sweep against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a swap.
Nabi JR shutting down at 15–25% remaining
The Nabi JR combines display backlight and WiFi on the same power rail. Under that combined load, a worn cell hits a voltage cliff well above the BMS cutoff threshold, triggering a shutdown the OS reads as a low-battery event. The percentage shown at cutoff is not the true state of charge — it reflects where the old cell's voltage dropped below the rail minimum. A new cell holds voltage flatter under the same load, so the cliff moves much closer to 0%. Run one full calibration cycle after installation to reset where the fuel gauge IC maps that cutoff.
Nabi JR showing wrong battery percentage after replacement
The fuel gauge IC on the NV5A board learned the discharge curve of the original cell over hundreds of cycles. Drop in a new cell and the stored curve no longer matches actual cell voltage, so the OS reports incorrect percentages — often jumping or stalling at fixed values. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Discharge the tablet fully to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% in one uninterrupted session. After that single cycle the fuel gauge recalibrates against the new cell's curve and percentage readings stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Nabi JR still shows the wrong percentage even after I put in a new battery — is something broken?
Nothing is broken. The fuel gauge IC on the NV5A board stores the discharge curve of the original cell, and a new cell has a different curve. The mismatch causes the percentage to jump, stall, or read high. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — one complete cycle resets the calibration.
The Nabi JR feels warm while charging with the new battery — should I be worried?
Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles is normal. The charge IC is establishing its control parameters against a new cell, which generates slightly more heat than a broken-in cell. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or the charge stops prematurely, disconnect and check that the connector is fully seated. Light warmth that fades after one or two full cycles is not a fault.
Why does the Nabi JR percentage drop fast from 100% but then slow down mid-charge — is the battery defective?
This is fuel gauge drift, not a defective cell. The IC's percentage map still reflects the old cell's behaviour at the top of its charge curve. The display burns through the first reported 20% quickly because the old calibration overstated that range. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the gauge will map the new cell's curve accurately from that point forward.
