Fits Barnes & Noble NOOK HD+9 tablet models BNTV600, Ovation, and AVPB00 OEM battery.
3.7V 6000mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full charge capacity to the display and processor load.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no orientation guessing — locking tab seats flush.
We ran a full charge cycle on the test unit; BMS accepted the cell without fault codes.
After installation, discharge the tablet fully to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration and corrects inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Barnes & Noble NOOK HD+ 9 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AVPB002-A110-01)

This is a 3.7V 6000mAh lithium-polymer battery for the Barnes & Noble NOOK HD+ 9-inch tablet (BNTV600). It replaces the original AVPB002-A110-01 / GB-S02-308594-0100 cell when the tablet no longer holds a charge or shuts down unexpectedly. It fits the BNTV600 chassis and its Ovation variant.

  • BNTV600 and Ovation fit: Both models share the same 3.7V cell footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The AVPB002-A110-01 part number covers both variants — one cell, two model names on the retail box.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a BNTV600 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, voltage held steady across the display and Wi-Fi load curve, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: After fitting this cell, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force it off manually. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This one full cycle lets the NOOK's fuel gauge IC map its readings against the new cell's actual capacity curve and clears the inaccurate percentage display that almost always appears after a swap.

NOOK HD+ shutting down at 15–25% remaining

The BNTV600 runs a 9-inch IPS display alongside Wi-Fi — both draw simultaneously during normal use. At around 3.6V cell voltage, combined load causes a brief voltage sag that the protection circuit reads as a low-voltage fault, triggering shutdown even though the percentage gauge still shows charge remaining. This is a BMS response to instantaneous load, not a defective cell. The fix is to complete the full recalibration cycle described above so the fuel gauge IC reports the correct voltage-to-percentage relationship under load.

Tablet showing inflated percentage after battery replacement

The NOOK HD+'s fuel gauge IC stores a learned model of the old cell's capacity curve in firmware. When a new cell goes in, that stored model no longer matches reality — the tablet may report 80% when the true state of charge is much lower, or it may drop from 40% to zero without warning. This is not a cell fault. Discharge the tablet fully to auto-shutoff, then charge it to 100% without interruption. That single cycle resets the IC's reference points against the new 6000mAh cell and restores accurate readings.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NOOK HD+ percentage jumps around after I fitted the new battery — is the cell bad?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The BNTV600's fuel gauge IC calibrated itself to the original cell over hundreds of cycles, and that learned model doesn't transfer to a new cell automatically. Discharge the tablet fully to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. One complete cycle resets the IC's reference points against the new 6000mAh cell and stabilises the percentage display.

The NOOK HD+ cuts out at around 20% after the battery swap — what's causing it?

This happens when the fuel gauge IC's stored curve doesn't match the new cell's voltage profile under load. The 9-inch display and Wi-Fi together pull enough current to cause a short voltage sag near 3.6V, which the protection circuit reads as a low-voltage fault and triggers shutdown — even though the displayed percentage still shows charge remaining. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. That recalibration aligns the IC's low-voltage threshold mapping to the new cell and resolves the premature cutoff.

The NOOK HD+ feels warm while charging with the new battery — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles is normal. A new lithium-polymer cell runs slightly higher internal resistance until the charge IC finishes its initial conditioning passes, which generates a small amount of heat. If the tablet stays warm but not hot to the touch and cools down within a few minutes of reaching 100%, that is expected behaviour. If the back becomes too hot to hold comfortably or the tablet shuts down mid-charge, disconnect it and check that the battery connector is fully seated before trying again.
