Fits Nextbook NX785QC8G and NX785QC16G tablets; replaces OEM part 1ICP3/92/123.
3.8V, 4000mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full charge cycles to your 7-8 inch tablet.
Connector aligns flat against the battery slot with a single friction latch; no screw required.
We bench-tested the BMS on a full cycle; fuel gauge IC initialized without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge calibration against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nextbook NX785QC8G / NX785QC16G — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1ICP3/92/123)

This 3.8V, 4000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Nextbook NX785QC8G and NX785QC16G tablets. Both are 7–8 inch Android tablets used for reading, browsing, and media playback. The OEM part number is 1ICP3/92/123.

  • NX785QC8G and NX785QC16G compatibility: Both models run the same 3.8V battery rail, use the same connector, and share the same BMS handshake protocol — that is why one cell fits both variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the NX785 platform. The BMS accepted charge negotiation without fault codes and held voltage within spec across the full discharge curve.
  • Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that typically appear after a swap.

Nextbook NX785QC8G shutting down at 15–25% remaining

This happens because the display backlight and active WiFi together draw enough current to create a sharp voltage sag at the cell terminals. When cell voltage dips below the BMS low-voltage threshold — even briefly — the tablet cuts power before the reported percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC reads average voltage, not instantaneous voltage under load, so the shutdown looks premature on screen. Running one full recalibration cycle after installing the new cell tightens the gap between reported and actual charge state.

Android reporting wrong battery percentage after swap

The fuel gauge IC stores calibration data tied to the old cell's charge curve. After a battery replacement, the IC has no valid reference for the new cell, so percentage readings drift or jump. This is not a fault with the replacement battery — it is a calibration mismatch. Fix it by discharging the tablet fully to automatic shutoff, then charging in one uninterrupted session to 100% at which point the fuel gauge IC locks new calibration data to the installed cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nextbook NX785QC8G still shows 30% then dies immediately — is the new battery faulty?

The battery is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the NX785 platform calibrates to the old cell's voltage curve, so after a swap the percentage reading is unreliable until recalibrated. Discharge the tablet fully to automatic shutoff — do not force-reboot it — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle resets the IC against the new cell and the percentage display stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my NX785QC8G — what happened?

The charge controller on this tablet requires at least one completed charge cycle on the new cell before it confirms USB negotiation parameters and unlocks higher charge rates. This is normal behaviour on Android tablets after a cell swap. Connect the tablet to its original charger and let it complete one full charge from low to 100% without interruption. Fast charge availability should resume from the second cycle onward.

The NX785QC16G gets noticeably warm near the charging port during the first few charges after a battery swap — is that safe?

Yes. On a fresh Li-Polymer cell, the charge IC runs a conditioning phase during the first two or three cycles that draws slightly more current than steady-state charging. Warmth around the port and rear panel during this phase is normal and not a sign of a defective battery. If the tablet feels hot to the point of discomfort or shows a temperature warning on screen, disconnect and let it cool to room temperature, then resume charging — but mild warmth alone is not cause for concern.
