Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB3873E2EBC)
This is a 3.8V, 4850mAh (18.43Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 tablet. It fits models 7D-501L, 7D-501U, and the MediaPad X1 7.0 LTE variants. OEM part numbers HB3873E2EBC and HB3873E2EBW both apply to this cell.
- MediaPad X1 7.0 compatibility: The 7D-501L and 7D-501U share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. All listed variants pull from the same 3.8V rail, so one cell covers the full model range without adaptation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a MediaPad X1 unit. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, completed a full charge cycle without fault codes, and held voltage within spec under display-plus-WiFi combined load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. This resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately after a swap.
Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement
The MediaPad X1's display backlight and WiFi radio draw current simultaneously, creating a combined load spike the fuel gauge misreads as a voltage cliff. The old cell's calibration data is still in the charge IC when a new battery goes in. At around 15–25% reported charge, the voltage under that combined load drops faster than the IC expects, triggering a protective shutdown. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the calibration curve and eliminates these early shutdowns.
Fast charging not available after battery swap
Huawei's proprietary fast-charge protocol requires the charge IC and battery BMS to complete a handshake during the first accepted charge cycle. If the tablet reverts to standard 5V charging after a battery swap, the handshake has not yet completed. Plug in the original Huawei charger — not a third-party USB-C adapter — and let the tablet charge from near-empty to 100% without interruption. After that single full cycle, fast charging resumes at the negotiated voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MediaPad X1 7.0 shows a different battery percentage every time I restart it after fitting the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the MediaPad X1 is calibrated to the old battery's charge curve, and a fresh cell has different voltage characteristics at each state of charge. The tablet's software is reading against the wrong reference map. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — that single cycle recalibrates the IC against the new cell and stabilises the percentage display.
The MediaPad X1 feels warm near the charging port while charging the new battery — should I stop?
Warmth near the charge IC during the first few cycles on a new lithium-polymer cell is normal. The charge controller adjusts current delivery as it learns the new cell's internal resistance, and that adjustment process generates mild heat. We measured surface temperatures on the bench during this phase and they stayed well within safe operating range. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or shows a charging error, check that you are using the original Huawei adapter rather than a high-wattage third-party charger.
After replacing the battery, the MediaPad X1 percentage drops quickly from 100% to around 80% then slows down — why?
This is fuel gauge drift, not a capacity problem. The charge IC stored the old cell's discharge curve in memory, and the new cell delivers charge slightly differently at the top of its range. The steep early drop is a reporting error, not actual capacity loss. Complete one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the curve will flatten out across the full range.
