Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Pad 7.0 / V400 / V410 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL-T12)

This 3.8V, 4000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces part number BL-T12 (also listed as EAC62438201) in the LG Pad 7.0 tablet, covering V400 and V410 variants. It fits into the original cell bay without modification. Dimensions are 90.45 × 90.71 × 3.51 mm — check these against your existing cell before ordering.

  • V400 and V410 compatibility: Both variants run the same 3.8V power rail and use an identical connector and BMS handshake, so one cell covers both board revisions. The BL-T12 part number applies to the full production run of the LG Pad 7.0 lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a V400 board. The BMS accepted the charge profile on the first cycle, current draw stayed within spec at full-display brightness, and no protection trips occurred during a full discharge pass.
  • Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a reference point against the new cell and corrects the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a swap.

LG Pad 7.0 shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve. The new cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity slope, so the system hits its low-voltage cutoff threshold earlier than the percentage display suggests. Under combined display and WiFi load, the voltage sag is enough to trigger an emergency shutdown. One full discharge-to-cutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% realigns the fuel gauge and eliminates the premature shutdown.

Fast charging not available after fitting a new BL-T12

The LG Pad 7.0's charge IC uses a handshake with the battery's BMS before enabling higher charge rates. On a fresh cell, this negotiation sometimes fails on the first cycle because the BMS has not yet established a charge history. Connect the tablet to the original LG charger and allow one complete charge from under 10% to 100% without interrupting it. After that cycle completes, fast charging typically becomes available and stays available on subsequent cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LG Pad 7.0 shows 40% battery but just shuts off — is the new battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC inside the tablet was calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve and is misreading the new one, causing a premature low-voltage cutoff under load. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. That one full cycle resets the calibration and the shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the BL-T12 — the tablet is only trickle charging now.

The charge IC requires the BMS to complete one accepted charge cycle before it unlocks higher charge rates on a new cell. Connect the tablet to the original LG charger and let it charge from under 10% to 100% without unplugging it. After that first uninterrupted cycle completes, reconnect the charger — fast charging should be available from that point forward.

The battery percentage is jumping around and dropping faster than expected from 100% — what's causing this?

This is fuel gauge drift — the tablet's coulomb counter lost its reference points when the old cell was removed and is estimating capacity inaccurately against the new cell. The fix is one full recalibration cycle: use the tablet normally until it shuts off automatically from low battery, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100%. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise and the drop rate matches actual capacity.
