Fits Microsoft Surface Pro X 1876 Keyboard; replaces OEM part G3HTA060H.
7.58V 5000mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers stable wireless and input power on full charge cycles.
Connector seats flush into the keyboard's battery slot with a single locking tab release mechanism.
We ran full discharge-to-100% cycles with the keyboard paired; BMS accepted the new cell without negotiation faults.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Microsoft Surface Pro X 1876 Keyboard — 7.58V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (G3HTA060H)

This is a 7.58V, 5000mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original battery in the Microsoft Surface Pro X 1876 detachable keyboard. It fits the keyboard accessory—not the Surface Pro X tablet itself. The keyboard uses this cell to power its wireless connectivity, backlighting, and input functions.

  • Surface Pro X 1876 Keyboard fit: The 1876 keyboard uses a slim Li-Polymer pack measuring 231.10 x 107.60 x 3.10mm to fit within the keyboard's ultra-thin housing. The G3HTA060H connector and BMS handshake are specific to this accessory—no other Surface keyboard generation uses the same configuration.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the 1876 keyboard hardware. The BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault flags, and the keyboard's pairing and input functions remained stable throughout testing.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The fuel gauge IC on the 1876 keyboard calibrates against the new cell during that first full cycle, correcting any inaccurate percentage readout that appears immediately after the swap.

Why the Surface Pro X Keyboard shows 0% or a frozen percentage after a battery swap

The 1876 keyboard's fuel gauge IC stores calibration data tied to the original cell's charge curve. When a new cell goes in, the IC has no reference point for the new chemistry profile, so it reports stale or nonsensical values. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. One complete discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% writes fresh calibration data to the IC and restores accurate reporting.

Surface Pro X Keyboard dropping from 30% to dead with no warning

This happens when the fuel gauge IC loses track of the actual voltage floor of the new cell. The keyboard's firmware triggers a hard shutoff at a voltage threshold the old calibration set—not where the new cell actually runs out. The cell still has charge, but the system cuts power before reaching it. Run the recalibration cycle described above; after one full discharge and recharge, the cutoff threshold resets to the correct voltage floor for this cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Surface Pro X keyboard is showing the wrong battery percentage after I replaced the battery — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The keyboard's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's charge curve, so it reads inaccurately against a new one. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle rewrites the IC calibration and the percentage display corrects itself.

The Surface Pro X keyboard cuts off completely while the percentage still shows 20–30% remaining — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC is triggering a low-voltage shutoff based on stale calibration data from the previous cell. The new cell still has usable charge at that point, but the firmware cuts power before reaching it. Complete one full discharge-to-shutoff and uninterrupted recharge to 100% — this resets the voltage floor the firmware uses as its cutoff reference.

The Surface Pro X keyboard isn't being recognised by Windows at all after the battery swap — keyboard shows no charge activity

This usually means the BMS handshake between the new cell and the keyboard controller hasn't completed. Disconnect the keyboard from the Surface Pro X, leave it detached for 30 seconds, then reattach and place it flat on the tablet. If the keyboard still shows no charge activity, connect the Surface to its charger — the keyboard draws its initial charge through the tablet's charging circuit, and the BMS initialises once voltage from the charger reaches it.
