Fits Pandigital R70F452 tablet; replaces MLP656095 battery pack.
3.7V, 3500mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full charge cycles to the display and processor.
Connector slides into the factory slot with locking tab; orientation marked on housing.
We ran full discharge and recharge cycles on the R70F452 motherboard — BMS accepted the cell without fault codes.
After installation, run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% to recalibrate the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and fix inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pandigital R70F452 / NOVA Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (MLP656095)

This is a 3.7V, 3500mAh lithium-polymer battery for the Pandigital R70F452 and related 7-inch tablets. It fits the R70A200, R70B200, and NOVA series alongside several additional Pandigital models sharing the same MLP656095 cell format. The physical dimensions are 84.80 × 64.30 × 5.60mm — measure your original before ordering if you are unsure.

  • R70F452 and NOVA platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V supply rail, and connector orientation, which is why one cell covers the full lineup. The BMS handshake on each accepts the MLP656095 without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the R70F452 platform. The charge IC accepted the new cell cleanly, BMS protection tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff, and no false-capacity readings appeared after the first full cycle.
  • Post-installation calibration cycle: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force-power it off — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to re-calibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear immediately after a swap.

Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery replacement

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still mapped to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits what the IC thinks is a dangerously low voltage, it triggers shutdown early — even though real capacity remains. The fix is one full calibration cycle: drain to auto-shutoff, charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the IC re-maps to the new cell's actual voltage curve and shutdown moves back to the correct low-voltage point near 3.0V per cell.

Fast charging not available after fitting the MLP656095

Some Pandigital tablets negotiate a higher charge rate only after one accepted standard charge cycle completes on a new cell. If the fast-charge indicator is missing after installation, connect the original charger and let the first full charge cycle complete without switching cables mid-charge. On the second charge, the charge IC typically re-negotiates the higher rate. If fast charge still does not appear, confirm the charger output — the tablet requires the correct voltage and current rating, not just any USB adapter.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pandigital R70F452 shows 80% battery right after I installed the new cell — is the reading going to stay wrong?

The fuel gauge IC calibrated itself to the old, worn-out cell over years of use, so it misreads the new cell's capacity immediately after a swap. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff without force-powering it off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle forces the IC to remap its discharge curve to the new cell. After one complete cycle, the percentage reading corrects itself.

The R70F452 cuts off at around 20% and the percentage jumps back up when I restart it — what is causing that?

The tablet is hitting a voltage cliff under combined display and WiFi load that the fuel gauge IC misidentifies as empty. The IC's low-voltage threshold is mapped to the degraded discharge curve of the original cell, so it triggers cutoff too early with the new cell installed. Complete one full drain-to-shutoff and uninterrupted charge-to-100% cycle to recalibrate the IC. After recalibration, cutoff shifts back to the correct point near the cell's actual minimum voltage.

The tablet gets noticeably warm while charging the new battery — should I be concerned?

Warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new lithium-polymer cell is normal. The charge IC runs at a slightly higher rate as it characterises the new cell, which generates more heat than it does on a fully conditioned cell. We measured surface temperatures on the bench and they stayed well within safe operating range throughout. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, check that the charge current matches the original charger spec — the R70F452 charger output should be 5V at the correct rated amperage.
