Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T310 / SM-T311 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SP3379D1H)

This 3.7V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces part number SP3379D1H in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 series. It fits the SM-T310 and SM-T311 tablets, along with six additional Tab 3 variants that share the same connector and cell format. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge or the tablet shuts down unexpectedly under load.

  • SM-T310 and SM-T311 compatibility: These two models share the same battery bay dimensions, JST connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell fits both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Tab 3 unit. The BMS accepted the new cell without error, and the charge IC behaved normally across all states.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force a restart — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The fuel gauge IC calibrates against the new cell during this cycle. Skip it and the percentage display may read incorrectly for weeks.

Why the Tab 3 shuts down at 15–25% after a battery replacement

The Tab 3's fuel gauge IC stores discharge curve data from the original cell. A new cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity curve at the low end. When the tablet draws combined load — display at full brightness plus active Wi-Fi — the real voltage dips below the old shutdown threshold before the gauge registers empty. The tablet cuts power while the percentage still shows double digits. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a complete charge retrains the gauge against the actual curve of the new cell and stops this from happening.

Tablet showing inflated or deflated percentage immediately after installation

The percentage jumping to an unexpected number right after a swap is a gauge drift issue, not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the impedance and self-discharge profile of the old battery. It reads the new cell's resting voltage and maps it to the wrong state-of-charge point. Force-restarting or topping up to 100% without a full discharge first does not fix it. Drain the tablet to automatic shutoff, then charge in one uninterrupted session to 100% — that single cycle resets the calibration.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tab 3 still won't fast charge after fitting the new SP3379D1H battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Fast charging on the Tab 3 depends on the charger completing a handshake with the charge IC, not just the cell accepting current. If you installed the battery and immediately tested with the same charger, one accepted full charge cycle is usually all it takes for the IC to negotiate correctly. Connect the original Samsung charger, let it run from low charge to 100% without interruption, and check again. If fast charge still does not appear, test with a second Samsung-spec charger to rule out the adapter.

The Tab 3 feels warm while charging the new battery — is the cell overheating?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles is normal. The charge IC on a fresh Li-Polymer cell runs slightly higher current while it characterises the new cell's internal resistance. We measured surface temperature on the bench and it stayed within normal operating range throughout. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — or shows a temperature warning on screen, stop charging and check that the battery connector is fully seated and the rear cover is not trapping heat.

Battery percentage drops fast from 100% but then slows down — why does it fall so quickly at the top?

This is fuel gauge drift, not a capacity problem. The IC calibrated its discharge curve to the old cell, which had a different voltage profile in the upper charge range. The new cell holds voltage higher for longer at the top, so the gauge over-reports consumption in that band and appears to drain quickly early on. Run one full cycle — discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — and the gauge will remap its curve to match the actual behaviour of the SP3379D1H cell.
