This is a 3.7V, 3000mAh Li-ion battery built to the SGPBP01 specification. It fits the Sony Tablet S series, including the SGPT211CN, SGPT212, SGPT213JP, and Tablet P1 variants. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge through a normal session of browsing or reading.

The Sony Tablet S reads state-of-charge through a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks data from the original cell. A new cell resets that history, so the reported percentage can jump, stall, or drop suddenly in the first few charges. This is not a faulty battery — it is a calibration gap. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that accepted cycle, the charge IC resumes its normal rate.
The tablet feels warm around the battery area during its first few charges after the swap — should I be concerned?
Warmth during the first two or three charges is expected. The charge IC runs a slightly higher current as it profiles the new cell's internal resistance and sets its charge curve. Surface temperature at the battery area typically settles within a few degrees of the original after those initial cycles. If the casing becomes hot to the touch or the tablet shuts down during charging, disconnect it and check that the connector is fully seated.
