Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ilife A4S / A4 / A6 / V7 Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PX-B020)
This 14.8V 2600mAh (38.48Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM PX-B020 cell in Ilife robotic vacuum cleaners. It fits the A4S, A4, A6, and V7 models, along with 38 additional units in the same platform family. These models share a common voltage rail, connector, and BMS handshake protocol, so one cell covers the full range.
- A4S / A4 / A6 / V7 platform compatibility: All listed models run the same 14.8V four-cell Li-ion architecture with an identical connector pinout and BMS communication line. Swapping cells across this family works because the charging circuit expects the same charge termination signal from any PX-B020-spec pack.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the pack through charge and discharge cycles on an Ilife A4S unit. The BMS held charge termination at the correct 16.8V ceiling and tripped overcurrent protection cleanly when suction was blocked mid-cycle — no false shutdowns under normal load.
- Dock charging habit for this vacuum: Do not leave the A4S sitting on the dock permanently between uses. These units trickle-charge continuously when docked, and sustained low-current charge degrades cell capacity faster than standard cycle use. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next clean.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
On the A4S, suction drop under a partial load is rarely a battery capacity problem — it is usually a voltage sag event. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than its rated load. The BMS reads the resulting voltage sag as a near-depleted cell and throttles output before the indicator has time to catch up. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest suction performance at full charge.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is an overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction — blocked intake, tangled brush roll, or a clogged filter — forces the motor to pull past the BMS current limit, the BMS cuts output to protect the cells. It resets automatically after a short thermal recovery window, which is why the vacuum restarts on its own. Clear the blockage and confirm the filter is seated correctly. If trips continue on an unblocked unit, measure pack voltage under load — it should hold above 13.5V during normal operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Ilife A4S shows a full charge but stops cleaning much sooner than it used to — is the new battery faulty?
Probably not the battery. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw significantly more current than rated, which accelerates voltage sag and triggers an early BMS cutoff — the vacuum stops before the cell is actually depleted. Clean the filter thoroughly and check the brush roll for hair tangles before suspecting the cell itself. After clearing restrictions, charge to full (charger light turns green) and run a clean cycle to confirm the full capacity is available.
My A4S kept sitting on the dock for weeks and now the battery drains noticeably faster than when it was new — what happened?
Continuous dock charging runs a low-level trickle current through the cells even after they reach full charge. Over weeks, this sustained low-current stress degrades cell capacity faster than normal charge-discharge cycling does. The damage is gradual and often goes unnoticed until the drop becomes significant. Going forward, charge to full then lift the unit off the dock — only return it to charge when the battery is depleted.
The replacement PX-B020 battery won't charge at all — the dock light just blinks or shows an error — what should I check first?
Some Ilife chargers send a handshake pulse before committing to a full charge cycle, and if the replacement BMS does not respond within the expected window, the dock faults out. First, press and hold the power button on the vacuum for 10 seconds with the battery installed to force a BMS reset, then place it on the dock. If the dock still faults, measure the battery's resting voltage with a multimeter — it should read between 14.4V and 16.8V. A reading below 12V means the cell over-discharged in transit and needs a recovery charge from a compatible Li-ion charger before the dock will recognise it.
