Fits Zaco A4, A6, A8, A9 robotic vacuums; replaces OEM battery CS-ECR131VX.
14.8V, 2600mAh lithium-ion delivers full motor torque on carpet and hard floors.
Connector locks into the undercarriage slot; keyed tab prevents reverse insertion.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake at first insertion with zero voltage sag.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — dock trickle charge degrades capacity faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Zaco A4 / A6 / A8 / A9 Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 14.8V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Zaco A4, A6, A8, and A9 robotic vacuum cleaners. It fits the compact 4-cell battery bay used across this model range. Voltage and capacity match factory spec so the robot resumes normal cleaning cycles without recalibration.

  • A4 / A6 / A8 / A9 shared platform: These four models run the same 14.8V battery architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS communication protocol. One cell pack covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the A-series platform. The BMS handshake initialised correctly, overcurrent protection tripped as expected under a simulated blockage, and charge termination cut off cleanly at 16.8V.
  • Dock charging habit on robotic vacuums: Do not leave the Zaco parked on its dock permanently between uses. These robots trickle-charge continuously when docked, which accelerates capacity fade in the replacement cell just as it did in the original. Charge to full, then remove from dock until the next cleaning run.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the filter is partially blocked — the motor draws harder to maintain airflow, which pulls more current than the BMS's steady-state threshold. Voltage sags under that elevated load even though the cell still holds most of its charge. The robot interprets the sag as near-empty and reduces motor speed to protect the pack. Clean or replace the filter first; if suction restores to full strength, the battery is not the cause.

Motor cutting out mid-cycle and then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It occurs when sustained suction restriction — a clogged filter or partial brush-roll jam — forces the motor to draw current beyond the protection threshold. The BMS disconnects, waits for the overcurrent condition to clear, then reconnects. Clear the brush roll, wash the filter, and run a short cycle; if the cut-outs stop, the pack is functioning correctly. If cut-outs continue on a clean filter, measure pack voltage at rest — a healthy cell should read at least 15.6V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Zaco finishes a cleaning run much faster than it used to — could a blocked filter be causing this even with a new battery?

Yes. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current than its rated load, which triggers the BMS to sag voltage and reduce motor speed earlier than the actual charge level warrants. The robot interprets this as a low-battery condition and docks prematurely. Remove and wash the filter, let it dry fully, then run another cycle — if runtime extends, the filter was the cause, not the battery.

My Zaco stops mid-run, sits still for a few seconds, then starts moving again — what is happening?

That pause-and-resume pattern is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, then resetting once current drops back within limits. It usually happens when the brush roll snags hair or debris and stalls, forcing the motor to pull a high-current burst. Turn the robot over, clear any hair wrapped around the brush roll, and check that the roll spins freely by hand. If the cut-outs stop after clearing the brush roll, the battery and BMS are working as intended.

I leave my Zaco docked all the time between cleans — will that wear out this replacement battery faster than the original?

It will. The dock delivers a continuous trickle charge once the pack is full, and sustained top-up voltage accelerates lithium-ion cell degradation over months. The original pack failed partly for the same reason. After the replacement reaches a full charge, remove the robot from the dock and store it off the charger. Return it to the dock only when you are about to run a cleaning cycle or the battery is depleted.
