Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Dibea V780 / D960 / GT200 / GT9 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.8V, 2600mAh (38.48Wh) Li-ion battery for the Dibea V780 and compatible cordless stick vacuum models. It fits the D960, GT200, and GT9 alongside the V780, all of which share the same 14.8V cell configuration and battery bay dimensions. When the original pack can no longer hold a charge, this unit restores the vacuum to its rated operating voltage.
- V780 / D960 / GT200 / GT9 platform fit: These models run the same 14.8V four-cell Li-ion architecture and share an identical battery connector and bay format. The BMS in each vacuum communicates with the pack over the same signal line, so the replacement initialises without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the V780 motor assembly. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and did not trip on normal motor start-up current draw.
- Dock charging habit on these vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Dibea's wall-mount dock does not interrupt charge once the pack is full, so cells trickle-charge continuously. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the V780
The V780 motor pulls higher current the moment airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter or clogged cyclone forces the motor to work harder at the same fan speed. That elevated draw causes voltage sag across the cells before the indicator registers a low-battery state. The vacuum feels like it is losing power, but the pack may still be above 13V. Clean the filter first; if sag continues after that, the original cells have lost enough internal capacity that the replacement pack is the correct next step.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction — blocked brush roll, full dustbin, or a clogged post-filter — forces the motor to draw beyond the BMS current threshold, the pack shuts the output rail and resets after a brief thermal or timer delay. The vacuum comes back on its own because the BMS has reset, not because the blockage cleared. Remove the blockage, empty the bin, and check the filter before the next run. If the trip happens on a clean machine with a new pack, measure open-circuit voltage; it should read between 16.4V and 16.8V on a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Dibea V780 runs for a much shorter time than it used to — could the filter be causing this?
Yes, a restricted filter is one of the most common reasons runtime drops on these vacuums before the battery itself actually fails. A clogged filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which depletes the pack faster and can trigger early BMS voltage cutoff. Wash the foam and mesh filters, let them dry fully for 24 hours, and retest. If runtime is still short after a clean filter, the cells have degraded and a replacement pack is the correct fix.
The replacement battery charges fine but the vacuum cuts out under heavy carpet — is this a faulty pack?
This is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip, not a defective cell. Thick carpet increases motor load significantly; if the brush roll is even partially tangled with hair or debris, draw spikes further and the BMS shuts the output rail to protect the cells. Clear the brush roll, check that the dustbin is empty, and confirm the post-motor filter is not blocked. If the vacuum runs without cutting out on hard floor after that, the pack is functioning correctly.
My Dibea cordless vacuum sat unused for several months — now it won't power on with the old battery. Will this replacement work straight away?
A battery that has sat discharged for months may have dropped below the BMS re-initialisation threshold, typically around 10V for a 14.8V Li-ion pack. At that point the BMS locks the output and will not allow the charger or the vacuum to draw current. The replacement pack ships with a partial charge and an active BMS, so it will power the vacuum immediately. Connect the charger first, confirm the charge indicator activates, and allow a full charge cycle before running the motor.
